Humberto Carrillo vs. Jack Gallagher

Jack Gallagher did a good job of grounding Humberto Carrillo early on. Carrillo did eventually get going though, much to the displeasure of Drew Gulak, who was on commentary for the match.

Carrillo hit a few big offensive maneuvers in a row and went to the top rope looking to finish Gallagher off for good when Gulak shoved him off, ending the match with a DQ.

Gulak went to inflict more punishment post-match, but Gallagher headbutted him for the save, presumably ending their friendship for good.

Winner: Humberto Carrillo (via DQ)

Tony Nese (c) vs. Buddy Murphy

Cruiserweight Championship Match

Spoiler alert: this match kicked ass.

Things started off a bit slow, which was the opposite of how things went Sunday at WrestleMania. You could tell that neither man wanted to make the first mistake.

Buddy Murphy, taking the opportunity to get a leg up, faked a knee injury and then nailed Tony Nese with a sneak attack. He threw Nese shoulder first into the ring post and took over from there.

On the floor, Murphy tossed Nese over (and into) the announce table, which looked brutal. Back in the ring, he landed a big knee strike, but only got a near fall out of it.

Murphy then hit Nese with a running suplex, but again, only got a two count. After a big diving senton, and a diving knee strike, Murphy got another two count, growing even more frustrated.

Murphy’s frustration caused him to lose focus for a split second, allowing a big palm strike from Nese, which sent him crashing off the top rope and into the barricade at ringside. Nese then hit a big dive of his own, which got the crowd on their feet.

The crowd LOVED this match. There were tons of “205” chants, along with a few “this is wrestling” chants, which was cool to hear.

Nese hit Murphy with a pump handle Driver, and Murphy responded with a running sit-out powerbomb, both of which got two counts.

Looking to end things once and for all, Murphy tried to powerbomb Nese onto the announce table at ringside. Murphy couldn’t get it done and had to break up the referee’s 10-count before he lost the match. Once he made it back out to the floor, Nese hit him with a HUGE back body drop onto the table, which looked painful as hell.

Murphy somehow survived and appeared to be closing in on the win after successfully landing Murphy’s Law. Nese not only kicked out but followed that up with a Poison Rana and TWO Running Kneese attacks, which led to him finally winning the match via pinfall.

Again, this match was fantastic, and is must-see TV for wrestling fans. One of the best matches of WrestleMania weekend, without a doubt.

Winner: Tony Nese
