The 11/06/18 edition of WWE SmackDown Live, out of the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England, just wrapped up. We’ve got the WWE SmackDown Live results, as well as our overall thoughts on the show, for you to check out below. Let us know what you thought about episode #1003 of WWE SmackDown Live by tweeting us, @TheRumbleRamble.

Survivor Series Promotion

SmackDown GM, Paige, opened the show and immediately welcomed the commissioner, Shane McMahon, to join her in the ring. He said he agreed with the crowd, the World Cup did not belong to him, but it did belong to SmackDown Live. Shane and Paige listed the matches occurring at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view, then began listing the Survivor Series teams.

The men’s team captain, Daniel Bryan, Yes chanted his way to the ring, then thanked Paige and Shane for appointing him. The Miz, of course, interrupted the speech by starting an argument with Shane McMahon regarding who would get custody of the World Cup trophy. He then presented the argument that he should be SmackDown Team Captain. Shane agreed to the proposal, announcing that Bryan and Miz would be co-captains.

Backstage, Shane acknowledged that the co-captains didn’t necessarily get along, but they did bring out the best in each other. He then set a challenge: they had to complete the team by the end of the evening. Both Miz and Bryan agreed that Shane should join the team, making him the third member.

The New Day vs. The Usos

Winners Become Survivor Series Tag Team Captains

Big E and Kofi Kingston represented The New Day in the battle for Survivor Series Tag Team Captains. These two teams have had banger after banger against each other and this was no exception. All five men continue to prove why tag team wrestling is fantastic. After an exciting back and forth match, Jimmy Uso hit Kofi Kingston with a splash, earning the title of Team Captains for The Usos.

Post-match, The Usos showed The New Day some love, complimenting them before asking that they join the Survivor Series Tag Team.

Winner: The Usos

The Fourth Member

The Miz and Daniel Bryan were shown having a conversation backstage in which Bryan chose his addition to the men’s team – Rey Mysterio. Miz didn’t completely agree and added a stipulation to the decision: Mysterio could only join the team if he defeated Andrade Almas in their match later in the evening.

Becky Lynch’s Open Challenge

SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, came to the ring to address the less-than-complimentary comments made by Ronda Rousey. She said that, while she may not have gotten to the top the same way as Ronda, she made it nonetheless. Beyond that, she didn’t care what Ronda thought about herself or Becky, she wanted nothing more or less than to break Rousey’s arm.

After such a fiery promo, the champ was ready to fight. She welcomed a competitor to come from the back to take her on and the woman who answered was none other than NXT’s Twisted Sister, Nikki Cross. We’re so excited to see SAnitY reunited at last.

Becky Lynch vs. Nikki Cross

Even the initial mind-blowing excitement of seeing Nikki Cross on SmackDown Live couldn’t take our attention away from how awesome this match was. Becky Lynch is far from easy prey for anyone, but Cross certainly gave her a run for her money.

We couldn’t be more pumped to see what the future holds for Nikki Cross, but the champ got the better of her this time around. Lynch tapped her out with the Dis-Arm-Her, proving that she is still The Man.

Winner: Becky Lynch

The Fifth Member

Still discussing potential team members, The Miz and Daniel Bryan shared their final picks with each other. Daniel Bryan chose Jeff Hardy, but Miz picked Samoa Joe. To settle things, Joe and Hardy will face each other for the final spot on the team.

Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas

This was epic. We need more – every week, if possible. Rey Mysterio and Andrade Almas tore it up, putting on an excellent match that really could have gone either way (although we were fairly certain Mysterio would emerge victoriously). Almas nearly won more than once, but Mysterio eventually brought El Idolo down, securing his spot on the Survivor Series team.

After the match, Randy Orton appeared out of nowhere, attacking Rey Mysterio with an RKO.

Backstage, Daniel Bryan accused Miz of setting up the ambush just because Mysterio was Bryan’s choice. Miz denied it, but Daniel didn’t seem convinced.

Winner: Rey Mysterio

Women’s Survivor Series Squad

Paige returned to the ring to announce the Women’s Survivor Series Team. Carmella, Naomi, Sonya Deville, and Asuka were each given spots, but when Charlotte’s name was called, we got Mandy Rose instead.

Rose proceeded to question each of Paige’s picks, obviously angry that she wasn’t given the honor. She overstepped with Naomi, who attacked, causing Mandy to retreat back up the ramp.

Samoa Joe vs. Jeff Hardy

Winner Joins Men’s Survivor Series Team

With The Miz and Daniel Bryan eagerly watching their respective choices from the announce desk, Samoa Joe and Jeff Hardy fought for the final spot on the SmackDown Live Men’s Survivor Series Team. After a short match, Hardy came close to defeating the Samoan Destroyer with a Twist of Fate followed by a Swanton Bomb. Unfortunately, Samoa Joe put his knees up at the last second and locked in a Coquina Clutch a second after that, taking his place on the squad.

Joe celebrated by getting in Bryan’s face, which led to a brawl, a Yes Lock, and Bryan walking away looking very, very angry after laying out the entire Survivor Series team.

Winner: Samoa Joe
