The Man Faces Off With The Empress
You want to know what the buzz is about?#TheMan @BeckyLynchWWE has issued a challenge to #TheIIconics! #SDLive @PeytonRoyceWWE @BillieKay @WWEAsuka pic.twitter.com/3w5ifFzg9R
— WWE (@WWE) January 16, 2019
Becky Lynch kicked off the show by taking a sip of some disgusting breakfast concoction blended up by Otis Dozovic and calling it “weak”.
She then came to the ring to talk about being The Man and address the slew of people trying to steal her gimmick. It wasn’t long before she started to throw shade at Asuka, who came to the ring to defend herself in person.
Asuka said that come Sunday, Becky Lynch wouldn’t have to worry about being in Charlotte’s shadow anymore – because she would be in Asuka’s.
The IIconics came down the ramp to let them know that they couldn’t care less about either Becky or Asuka’s upcoming matches, as they had their eye on the new Women’s Tag Team Championships.
To prove her manliness to Asuka, Becky Lynch gave Billie and Peyton a choice of which one would be facing her right then and there.
Becky Lynch vs. Peyton Royce
Sportsmanship?

Not today, @PeytonRoyceWWE, not today… #SDLive @BeckyLynchWWE pic.twitter.com/7lTEZW8qZu
As promised, Becky Lynch gave Peyton Royce the business while Asuka looked on from ringside. She was playing no games and met Peyton’s attempt at a pre-match handshake with a punch to the throat.
With the moral support of her
Winner: Peyton Royce
Asuka vs. Billie Kay
Anything #TheMan can do, THE CHAMP can do better?!
— WWE (@WWE) January 16, 2019
That seems to be the message from #SDLive #WomensChampion @WWEAsuka! pic.twitter.com/i9ROGLDTWH
Directly following Becky’s win against Peyton, Asuka jumped in the ring and began screaming in The Man’s face (admittedly, we have no idea what she was saying, as it was all in Japanese). The Empress then ran after The IIconics, grabbed Billie Kay, threw her in the ring, and forced her into a match.
Demonstrating her submission hold for Becky, Asuka very quickly put Billie in the Asuka Lock, tapping her out. All in all not a good night for The IIconic Duo.
Winner: Billie Kay
AJ Styles: The People’s Champ
🌭🌭HOT DOG!!! 🌭🌭

A FIGHT has broken out in the concourse between @AJStylesOrg and The New @WWEDanielBryan! #SDLive pic.twitter.com/AYYQ7c7Nr8
AJ Styles gave his response to Daniel Bryan disrespecting the fans last week by surrounding himself with a group of fans in the lobby of the arena and talking them up before giving out free t-shirts.
He was soon ambushed by Daniel Bryan and the two brawled until they were separated by officials. (At one point Styles tackled Bryan through a table of hot dogs, which was by far our favorite part).
Samoa Joe vs. Mustafa Ali
This is uncalled for. #SDLive @SamoaJoe @MustafaAliWWE pic.twitter.com/ID6u6Eoors
— WWE (@WWE) January 16, 2019
Samoa Joe made his entrance first and decided he wasn’t going to wait for Mustafa to finish making his. Joe savagely attacked Ali before the match began, leaving the heart of 205 Live lying lifeless on the ground.
In a post-“match” interview, Samoa Joe said that it was nothing personal against Mustafa Ali, he was simply using Ali to send a message to the other 29 participants of the 2019 Royal Rumble match, as they would be receiving the exact same level of respect.
Winner: N/A
Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade
So… @AndradeCienWWE is INCREDIBLE! #SDLive @reymysterio pic.twitter.com/w7j9uXVovn
— WWE (@WWE) January 16, 2019
Like so many before him, Andrade “Cien” Almas has officially lost half of his name to the void and will be known simply as “Andrade” from now on.
This match was awesome. Mysterio and Andrade had the crowd (and us) right from the start and things only got better from there. It might have been a little too good for TV, but you won’t hear any complaints here.
These two threw everything in their respective arsenals at each other – and I do mean everything. They held nothing back, using the most hard-hitting moves at their disposal. Mysterio and Andrade traded near fall after near fall until Mysterio went for a frog splash, but Zelina Vega distracted the referee, giving Andrade the slight edge he needed to take the win via his La Sombra DDT.
Seriously, watch this match as soon as you can if you missed it; it’s well worth going back for.
Winner: Andrade
Hotel Room Brawl
Lovin’ the Kill Bill vibes, @NaomiWWE.

She’s about to snatch @WWE_MandyRose BALD! #SDLive pic.twitter.com/zx2bG4DALK
Earlier in the evening, Jimmy Uso was shown with what he thought was an early anniversary gift from his wife, Naomi. However, the gift turned out to be a hotel room key from Mandy Rose.
Later, Mandy Rose revealed to Sonya Deville that she absolutely hated Naomi – and what better way to make Naomi’s life difficult than to break up her marriage.
Finally, Jimmy Uso went to Mandy Rose’s hotel room, but only to tell her to stop coming on to him. A photographer suddenly ran into the room and snapped several pictures of Jimmy with a half-naked Mandy Rose.
Mandy said that she never wanted Jimmy, that she only wanted to ruin his wife’s life. Jimmy Uso then left the room, leaving the door open for Naomi, who ran in and attacked Rose. After Mandy escaped the room, Jimmy came back to check on Naomi, who said that she wasn’t even close to being done with Rose.
Shane McMahon’s Birthday Bash
COAST-TO-COAST! CAKE-TO-FACE!

What a birthday celebration for @ShaneMcMahon! #SDLive @WWESheamus @mikethemiz pic.twitter.com/z4xeyLb778
The Miz was out to give his new tag partner, Shane McMahon, the best birthday party ever. Complete with two cakes, a new pair of Jordans, and a video montage of some of Shane’s finest moments in WWE, Miz certainly outdid himself.
The festivities were just beginning when The Bar interrupted, disappointed that they hadn’t been invited in the first place. To let them in on the action, Shane McMahon
Not wanting to let his partner down, Miz agreed to compete. And despite being in a suit and wholly unprepared, he snuck by with a victory via rollup after Sheamus accidentally threw Cesaro into the cake table.
Sheamus tried to attack Miz after the match but was brought down by the impeccable teamwork of the best tag team in the world. Shane McMahon hit
