The August 6 2019 episode of WWE SmackDown Live is taking place later this evening.

The following “quick hits” are advertised to be included in tonight’s show:

1. Shane McMahon Comes to The Kevin Owens Show

The stakes are high for the match between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon at Summerslam…for Kevin. If Shane loses, he suffers no real consequence other than he will continue to have to put up with KO, but if Kevin loses, he will be forced to quit WWE.

To give both himself and Shane (but probably mostly himself) a chance to get a few final words in before Sunday, Kevin Owens has invited Shane to be the special guest for tonight’s episode of The Kevin Owens show.

2. Kofi Kingston Responds to Randy Orton’s Harsh Words

When Kofi Kingston challenged Randy Orton to a WWE Championship match at Summerslam, Orton accepted but made it clear that he has no respect for the champ and plans to destroy him, just like he did when they feuded the first time a decade ago.

The Viper then went a step further, cutting an excellent, albeit malicious, promo about how his destruction of Ali is what gave Kofi Kingston his position in the first place, and outlining why he is the better competitor. Tonight, Kofi will respond to Randy in an exclusive interview.

3. Who is After Roman Reigns?

Roman Reigns has had a target on his back as of late, but not in the usual way that Superstars do. Instead of ambushes or cruel promos, someone has been taking much more drastic measures to send The Big Dog a message.

First, someone shoved a lighting rig on top of him last week on SmackDown Live. Samoa Joe was originally accused of being the culprit, but when someone tried to hit Reigns with a car right in front of Joe last night on Raw, it became clear to everyone that Joe is innocent…this time, at least.

But if not Joe, then who? With Summerslam on the horizon, and the attacks beginning when Roman attempted to announce his plans for the show, we’ll likely find out tonight.

4. Aleister Black Gets An Opportunity to Respond to Sami Zayn

Last week on SmackDown Live, Sami Zayn issued a challenge to Aleister Black, stating that he would be more than happy to put Black out of his misery with a beating at Summerslam.

Tonight, we will learn whether or not Aleister Black will accept this challenge. But, given that he has been sitting in a dark room begging for an opponent for weeks, we feel we probably already have our answer.

5. Charlotte Flair and Trish Stratus Prepare for Summerslam

When Charlotte Flair discovered that she had been left out of the Summerslam match card, she sought out her own opponent. But she couldn’t pick just anyone, it had to be a match fit for a Queen.

When Trish Stratus made a special appearance on SmackDown Live, Charlotte saw her opportunity, and after a few insults were thrown around, Stratus agreed to the match.

With Summerslam only a few days away, Charlotte and Trish will be using SmackDown Live to prepare for their marquee match.
