The August 27 2019 episode of WWE SmackDown Live is taking place later this evening.
The following “quick hits” are advertised to be included in tonight’s show:
1. King of the Ring Round 1: Chad Gable vs. Shelton Benjamin
Former tag team partners, Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin, will clash tonight on SmackDown Live in the first round of the King of the Ring Tournament.
Shelton Benjamin has already begun his journey down the low road, taunting Chad Gable during his interview regarding his thoughts on the upcoming match and the tournament itself. But this course of action may backfire, as Gable will most likely be coming to the ring with a little extra fire behind him because of it.
2. King of the Ring Round 1: Buddy Murphy vs. Ali
Old 205 Live rivals, Buddy Murphy and Ali will face-off to close out the first round of the King of the Ring tournament. And if their bouts under the purple banner are any indication (spoiler alert: they are), this match will steal the show tonight.
Murphy and Ali hold a certain level of respect for each other from their past encounters, but that will not prevent either of them from throwing everything they have at their opponent in an effort to score the victory.
3. Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan Want An Apology
To cap off last week’s episode of SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan and Rowan revealed the “real” culprit behind the attempts on Roman Reigns’ life. Turns out it wasn’t Rowan after all, but a guy who just happens to look like Rowan.
This, of course, is all total nonsense, but Daniel Bryan and Rowan are behind their lies 100%. And because of this, they are demanding an apology from Roman Reigns for ever thinking they could possibly try to harm him in any way.
But Reigns didn’t appear too convinced last week, and will most likely not be making an apology tonight. Which obviously will not sit well with the planet’s champs.
4. Charlotte Flair Responds to Bayley’s Attack
Last week on SmackDown Live, Bayley rudely interrupted Charlotte Flair’s interview on A Moment of Bliss. And adding injury to insult, Bayley shoved The Queen and the chair she sat in to the floor, grinning as she did it.
But Charlotte has never been one to take abuse lying down, and will definitely have something up her sleeve in response to The Huggable One’s grievous insult.
5. The Feud Between Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston Continues
After suffering at the hands of Randy Orton and his new friends, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, one too many times, Kofi Kingston hit Orton with a Trouble in Paradise outta nowhere last week. He then took it a step further, beating The Revival down with a steel chair.
FTRKO will not take this affront lightly and have undoubtedly spent the last week planning the counter-attack they will launch tonight.
