The August 20 2019 episode of WWE SmackDown Live is taking place later this evening.
The following “quick hits” are advertised to be included in tonight’s show:
1. Buddy Murphy Challenges Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan and Rowan brutally assaulting Buddy Murphy last week on SmackDown Live (after poor Buddy Murphy had already suffered at the hands of Roman Reigns the week before) inspired a desire for revenge within the former Cruiserweight Champion.
Murphy issued a challenge to Daniel Bryan on Twitter, which Bryan accepted, but with full knowledge that his protector and tag team partner, Rowan, will be watching from ringside to ensure that Murphy doesn’t get too far ahead.
2. King of the Ring Round 1: Kevin Owens vs. Elias
In the first match of the SmackDown Live side of the King of the Ring tournament (the first two matches took place on Raw last night), Kevin Owens and Elias will step into the ring to determine who will be the one to advance to the next round.
3. King of the Ring Round 1: Apollo Crews vs. Andrade
Apollo Crews and Andrade will also be competing in the King of the Ring Tournament this evening. This is not the first time these two have faced off in the ring, but there is certainly more on the line than ever before, considering only one of them will be able to move on toward becoming King.
4. Will Kofi Kingston Get Back at Randy Orton?
Randy Orton, along with The Revival launched a vicious assault on Kofi Kingston and The New Day last night on Raw, going as far as to appear to “break” Xavier Woods’ leg while holding Kofi Kingston down, forcing him to watch.
After last night’s violent attack, on top of handing out RKOs to all three members of New Day last week on SmackDown Live, Kofi Kingston surely has a response in mind.
