WWE Royal Rumble 2019 is coming to you live out of Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, this Sunday, January 27th, on the WWE Network. We’ve got the match card, as well as our predictions and overall thoughts on the show for you to check out below. Let us know what you think is going to happen during the Rumble by tweeting us, @TheRumbleRamble.

Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura have had an entertaining feud, which is most likely coming to an end this Sunday. Rusev will prove once and for all why everyone should celebrate Rusev Day before moving on to new opponents on the road to WrestleMania (like Andrade. Please?).

Winner: Rusev

Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Kalisto vs. Akira Tozawa vs. Hideo Itami

This should be an absolute banger, as excellence is expected from the Cruiserweight division at this point. Buddy Murphy has had nothing but fantastic performances since becoming champion, but we think it’s time for him to move on to other things (ideally, the United States or Intercontinental Championship).

Hideo Itami certainly hasn’t had the smoothest WWE run so far but is ultra-talented and worthy of a championship reign.

Winner: Hideo Itami

The Bar (c) vs. Shane O’Miz

The newly formed team of Shane O’Miz is getting their first real opportunity to prove themselves as a formidable force in the SmackDown Live tag division. The Miz and Shane O’Mac are going straight for the top by challenging The Bar for the tag championships.

We’ve been having a lot of fun with the Shane O’Miz storyline, so we’re picking them to win the titles. Because, while they’re a fun/comedic pair, they’re both talented enough to keep the tag championships valuable.

Winner: Shane O’Miz

Asuka (c) vs. Becky Lynch

SmackDown Live Women’s Championship

Two of our favorite women in a championship match at our favorite pay-per-view of the year? Yes, please. Becky Lynch will give Asuka a run for her money, but we don’t think she’s going to take the title.

Actually, we genuinely hope she doesn’t. That way, The Man is free to enter the Royal Rumble and lock in the championship match against Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania when she wins it.

Winner: Asuka

Daniel Bryan (c) vs. AJ Styles

The “new” Daniel Bryan has pulled out all the stops in regard to his character and vicious style in the ring (and sometimes in the lobby), and at the end of last year, used this newfound ferocity to take the WWE Championship from AJ Styles.

Bryan will bring the ruthlessness to this bout with AJ Styles and retain his championship because of it; as he’s said before, he will do anything to remain champion.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

If this Rumble is as good as last year’s, we’re in for a treat. And just looking at the line-up announced for the match, including Seth Rollins, Andrade, and Mustafa Ali, just to name a few, we have no doubt it will be.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Sasha Banks

Both Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey have made it clear that they are more than ready to give each other hell on Sunday. Although Ronda will hang on to that title (for now), Sasha will certainly come close to taking it.

We love Sasha Banks but are way too fixated on the idea of Becky Lynch coming for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania to want anyone but Ronda to have it until then.

Winner: Ronda Rousey

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Finn Bálor

Universal Championship Match

Finn Bálor defied the odds and won the right to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. The few interactions Bálor and Lesnar have had indicated that Lesnar is game for the match, and we know Finn always comes ready for battle, which means it’s going to be awesome.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

Women’s Royal Rumble Match

The women’s royal rumble match main-evented last year’s pay-per-view, and we think that will reoccur this year for one moment: we need that Becky Lynch / Ronda Rousey staredown to close the show.

After being unsuccessful in her attempt to dethrone The Empress, Becky Lynch will enter and win the Royal Rumble match, and choose Rousey as her WrestleMania opponent.

Winner: Becky Lynch
