With a neck injury requiring surgery, Tommaso Ciampa was forced to relinquish the NXT Championship. With the mini-documentary WWE recently published on YouTube, it’s safe to say he has no choice but to relinquish his bad guy status as well.
The heartbreaking first installment of a two-part series shows Ciampa holding his wife and infant daughter close as he discusses the injury that snatched his dreams from his grasp and may prevent his return to the ring.
The video also features a first-hand look at Ciampa being removed from the NXT TakeOver: New York main event as he speaks on what a crushing blow it was to both him and his long-time rival / real-life best friend, Johnny Gargano.
