Opening Segment

Kurt Angle kicked off tonight’s show with an in-ring promo designed to introduce the following two Money in the Bank qualifier matches set to take place later in the evening:

  1. Ember Moon vs. Ruby Riott vs. Sasha Banks
  2. Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn vs. Finn Bálor

After not hearing his name, Braun Strowman entered the scene and confronted Angle about not being in the match. Kevin Owens also showed up, saying that he deserved to be inserted in the match without jumping through any hoops in order to qualify. Angle set up a match between the two, with the winner receiving a spot in the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Kevin Owens vs. Braun Strowman

Money in the Bank Qualifier Match

This match told an awesome story which centered around Kevin Owens trying to get the win via countout, while Braun Strowman continued to prove impossible to slow down. Strowman got the win via the running powerslam, meaning The Monster Among Men is headed to Money in the Bank.

Winner: Braun Strowman

No Way Jose and Titus Worldwide vs. Baron Corbin and The Revival

Pretty standard stuff here, especially if you’ve seen any of the hundreds of six-person tag matches on Raw or SmackDown Live that have taken place recently. Baron Corbin got the win for his team via pinfall, after he murdered No Way Jose with the End of Days.

Winner: Baron Corbin and The Revival

Sasha Banks vs. Ember Moon vs. Ruby Riott

Money in the Bank Qualifier Match

Ruby Riott jumped out early and let Sasha Banks and Ember Moon go at it – they did some cool stuff, just the two of them. Riott eventually came back into the fray and attacked Banks. She also got some help from her fellow Riott Squad members throughout the match, but ultimately that wasn’t enough. There were several near-falls, including one that followed a cool double DDT from Riott. Eventually Moon got the victory via the Eclipse, which means she’s the first participant in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. This match was super fun, so if you haven’t seen it, try to find the time to check it out.

Winner: Ember Moon

Bobby Lashley Vignette/Sit-Down Interview

We got a vignette highlighting Bobby Lashley’s life, specifically his amateur wrestling and military background. Following that was a sit-down interview conducted by Renee Young, which centered around Lashley’s childhood, mostly his relationship with his sisters. This came off a bit awkward, if we’re being honest, but it’s nice to see WWE trying to highlight Lashley in a new and creative way.

Chad Gable vs. Jinder Mahal

50-50 booking strikes again. After defeating Jinder Mahal a few short weeks ago, Chad Gable fell victim to the Modern Day Maharaja via the Khallas. Mahal appears to be building up steam for the Money in the Bank ladder match, so don’t be surprised to see him win a qualifier match next week.

Winner: Jinder Mahal

Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler vs. Rhyno and Heath Slater

Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler continued to roll, defeating Rhyno and Heath Slater in quick fashion. As great as the Drew McIntyre/Dolph Ziggler tag team has been so far, it’s hard not to think about how awesome it would be to see Drew McIntyre win the Money in the Bank contract this year.

Winner: Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler

Elias vs. Bobby Roode

Prior to the match, Elias continued to run Bobby Roode down on the mic, in song form of course, which is always entertaining. After the musical performance, the action started. Elias showed off his power, throwing Bobby Roode around like he was a cruiserweight. Elias’ character work is obviously strong, but his in-ring work is solid, too. Just as things were starting to look bad for Roode, he managed to hit a Glorious DDT out of nowhere to get the win. Roode, like Mahal, appears to be heading towards a Money in the Bank qualifier match in the near future.

Winner: Bobby Roode

Seth Rollins (c) vs. Mojo Rawley

Intercontinental Championship Match

Seth Rollins issued an open challenge for his Intercontinental Championship and Mojo Rawley answered the call. The live crowd wanted Zack Ryder, the hometown boy, but they got his former tag partner instead. Rawley gave Rollins everything he had in the tank, but it wasn’t enough, as Rollins got the victory via the Curb Stomp after a hard fought battle.

Winner: Seth Rollins

The DELETERS of WORLDS vs. Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt DELETED Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas, using a double Sister Abigail to get the win. Axel and Dallas were hinting at announcing a new name for their team, but it looks as though we’ll have to wait until next week to find out what that name is going to be.

Finn Bálor vs. Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn

Money in the Bank Qualifier Match

Sami Zayn and Finn Bálor teamed up early on to take out The Big Dawg, with all three men brawling around the arena before Reigns was disposed of near the tech area. Reigns eventually got himself together and back into the match, but Jinder Mahal’s interference prevented him from getting the win. Bálor would eventually hit Zayn with a Coup de Grâce to punch his ticket to Money in the Bank.

Winner: Finn Bálor
