WWE Raw

The March 12th, 2018 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw just wrapped up. We’ve got the match results and our overall thoughts on the show for you to check out below. Let us know what you thought about episode #1294 of WWE Raw by tweeting us, @TheRumbleRamble.

Opening Segment

Kurt Angle made his way to the ring to kickoff tonight’s show. The Olympic Gold Medalist announced that Brock Lesnar was once again a no-show, despite the fact that he was advertised for the event.

Roman Reigns, in a very aggressive manor, hit the ring to respond. He executed another great worked-shoot promo, calling out Brock for not showing up to work yet again. He quickly turned his attention to Vince McMahon, accusing him of playing favorites with The Beast.

Roman made his way back up the ramp and to gorilla, where he damn near snatched Vince out of his seat backstage while Shane McMahon watched helplessly beside him.

Roman and Vince apparently had a somewhat heated meeting in Vince’s office during the commercial break.

When we returned from the break, Reigns walked out of the office without saying a word to Renee Young, who was standing by looking to get the scoop.

Vince had a lot to say, most of which was about Reigns knowing his role and shutting his mouth. He also defended Lesnar quite a bit, and closed out the segment by temporarily suspending Reigns.

A solid opening segment that had Paul Heyman’s fingerprints all over it.

Sonya Deville vs. Sasha Banks

A quick and painless match. Banks got the win via the Bank Statement.

During the bout, Bayley prevented the rest of Absolution from getting involved. After the match, she left Banks in the ring to fend for herself and Absolution laid The Boss out with a 3-on-1 attack.

Winner: Sasha Banks

Miz TV In-Ring Segment

The Miz hosted another fantastic episode of Miz TV. His guests were his opponents at WrestleMania, Seth Rollins and Finn Bálor.

The Miz spent the majority of the segment trying to turn Finn and Seth against one another, and almost succeeded, but the two eventually teamed up to lay out the Intercontinental Champion.

Seth wasn’t finished though, as he beat Finn down to close out the ordeal and was the last man standing when it was all said and done.

Sheamus and Cesaro vs. The Miztourage

The Bar were supposed to have a match with The Miztourage, but the entire Raw tag division laid them out before the match could take place.

The Bar has been calling out the entire division for the past few weeks, so they had it coming.

John Cena In-Ring Segment

John Cena came out to address last night’s loss at Fastlane.

John said that his path to WrestleMania this year was clear: He was going to buy a ticket and go as a fan. He had a bit of fun with this bit, which included jumping the barricade and taking a sip of beer from a fan’s cup at ringside and starting some chants (not even John Cena could get a “let’s go Roman” chant going though).

Finally, John got serious and decided to call out The Undertaker one more time. He claimed that it wasn’t the management preventing this match from happening, it was The Undertaker.

He cut his own worked-shoot promo, stating that ‘Taker had a massive ego and too many excuses as to why he isn’t around anymore. He said that ‘Taker isn’t old and broken down like he claims, and the workout videos on his wife’s instagram were proof of that.

John left the ball in The Undertaker’s court regarding his attendance at WrestleMania as a fan, or as the final opponent for The Deadman.

The Bar/Kurt Angle Backstage Segment

Backstage, The Bar were upset about the beatdown they received earlier in the night. They asked Kurt if they could be traded to SmackDown Live, but Kurt told them that they weren’t going anywhere.

Kurt then announced a tag team battle royal for later in the show, where the winners would face The Bar at WrestleMania for the Raw Tag Team Championships.

Elias In-Ring Segment

Elias, who was rocking a neck brace after last week’s Symphony of Destruction Match, went to sing the lovely Detroit crowd a song, but decided to bail instead.

Braun Strowman showed up on the Titantron and claimed that he would be creating his path to WrestleMania tonight. He also mentioned his hands, and that somebody was going to get them.

Finn Bálor vs. Seth Rollins

What. A. Match.

Pay-per-view quality in-ring action on Raw is exactly what the Intercontinental Championship should be about.

Bálor counted the Falcon Arrow with a rollup to get the win.

Winner: Finn Bálor

The Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal Announcement

WWE announced a women’s battle royal match for WrestleMania. This is a great way to get everyone on the card, which is something we’re totally down for.

The entire video package announcing the match is in the embedded tweet above, if you’re interested.

Asuka In-Ring Segmet

Asuka’s in-ring interview was quickly cut off by Alexa Bliss, who was flanked by Mickie James.

Alexa claimed that Asuka was scared of her, which is why she picked Charlotte Flair and the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship. Asuka said that she chose Charlotte because in order to be the woman, you have to beat the woman.

Alexa and Mickie attacked Asuka, which set up a match between Asuka and Mickie.

Asuka vs. Mickie James

WWE should have just kept Asuka on SmackDown Live after Fastlane. The fans were not really into this match, which isn’t fair to the performers. There was a loud “Rusev Day” chant at one point, as well as a “CM Punk” chant, which isn’t anyone’s fault but WWE’s.

Asuka got the win via the Asuka Lock. She injured her foot at one point, which appears to be something WWE plans to play into in storyline going forward.

Winner: Asuka

Nia Jax/Alexa Bliss Backstage Segment

Backstage, Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss appeared to have repaired their damaged friendship. There was even an “I love you” moment between the two, which was cute.

Bliss asked Jax if she would be at ringside next week when she takes on Asuka, and Jax said she had her back.

Nia Jax vs. Joan King

Squash match. Jax got the win in less than a minute.

After the match, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James were shown backstage talking smack about Jax on the ‘tron… Awkward.

Jax left the ring in tears, before wiping them away and running to the back to get her hands on the Mean Girls of WWE. The two had escaped before Jax’s arrival, but that didn’t prevent her from destroying their locker room.

Winner: Nia Jax

The Hardy Compound Video Package

We got a video package hyping up The Ultimate Deletion, as well as explaining to the WWE Universe what the Hardy Compound is. All of your favorite Broken Universe characters are back, so get hype.

Wyatt cut a promo immediately afterwards telling Hardy that he gladly accepts the invitation, and low key threatened to harm his family. This is going to be fun…

No. 1 Contendership Tag Team Battle Royal

Braun Strowman entered himself (and his shadow) into the tag team battle royal and won the damn thing.

The Bar are shaking in their boots, as they must go 2-on-1 with Strowman at WrestleMania with the Raw Tag Team Championship titles on the line (or so it appears).

Winner: Braun Strowman
