The September 16 2019 episode of WWE Raw is taking place later this evening.
The following “quick hits” are advertised to be included in tonight’s show:
1. King of the Ring Finals: Chad Gable vs. Baron Corbin
The King of the Ring Tournament is coming to a close tonight on Raw with a match between the two performers who successfully made it through weeks of grueling competition: Chad Gable and Baron Corbin.
Despite his history of less-than-sportsmanlike conduct, Baron Corbin has made it to this point in the tournament walking the straight and narrow the entire time. And, of course, Chad Gable has been nothing but an honest hard-worker from the start, even making it through Shane McMahon, an obstacle that has stopped many before him.
At the end of the evening, we will either have King Gable or King Corbin, but both have proven themselves worthy of the title over the last few weeks.
2. Sasha Banks’ Pursuit of the Raw Women’s Championship Continues
Last night at Clash of Champions, Sasha Banks took Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch to the absolute limit, the two brawling through the arena and beating each other with steel chairs after the referee was rendered unconscious.
Though Sasha Banks technically won the match, it was via disqualification, meaning Becky Lynch was the one to leave with the title. Because of the attack on the referee, The Man will be fined $10,000, and on top of the hefty penalty, may also soon lose her championship, as Sasha Banks has no intention of giving up the fight.
3. Seth Rollins Responds to The Fiend’s Attack
Seth Rollins, however narrowly, made it through his Universal Championship Match against Braun Strowman in one piece. Strowman and Rollins had a particularly vicious match, as the animosity between the two had only grown when they lost the Raw Tag Team Championships to Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode earlier in the evening, a defeat for which Rollins blamed Strowman fully.
But Rollins barely had any time to celebrate the victory, as while he stood on the stage holding his Universal Championship proudly, he was ambushed by The Fiend, who laid him out with a Sister Abigail before deciding that wasn’t enough and lifting Rollins off the ground for a Mandible Claw.
Rollins may have come out on top over The Monster, but The Fiend poses a whole new list of problems for the champ, which he will undoubtedly address tonight on Raw.
4. Cedric Alexander Isn’t Giving Up
In front of a hometown crowd, Cedric Alexander stepped up to the United States Champion, AJ Styles, last night at Clash of Champions. Unfortunately, however, not only did Alexander suffer a defeat, but he was also brutally beaten by Styles and his OC mates, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, post-match.
But instead of demonstrating to Cedric Alexander that there was no way he could bring down The Phenomenal One, as The OC had hoped, they only intensified Alexander’s need to topple his tormentors.
And Alexander is not wasting any time resuming his quest. He already gave a statement saying just that almost immediately after his match against Styles and will reiterate his plans tonight.
