The August 26 2019 episode of WWE Raw is taking place later this evening.
The following “quick hits” are advertised to be included in tonight’s show:
1. King of the Ring Tournament Round 1: Ricochet vs. Drew McIntyre
The first four first-round matches of the tournament took place last week, advancing four men into the second round: Samoa Joe, Cedric Alexander, Elias, and Andrade.
To kick off the second half of the first-round, Ricochet and Drew McIntyre will face off to determine who will be the one to take the first step toward becoming King of the Ring.
2. King of the Ring Tournament Round 1: The Miz vs. Baron Corbin
On top of Ricochet vs. Drew McIntyre, The Miz and Baron Corbin will be competing in the last first-round King of the Ring match on Raw (there will be two more on SmackDown tomorrow).
In last week’s matches, both Elias and Andrade bent the rules to win their matches, making us wary of Baron Corbin, as he has never been above cheating to get ahead.
3. Nikki Cross Seeks Revenge on Bayley
Last week on Raw, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross were trying to host a professional meeting with Charlotte Flair on A Moment of Bliss when Bayley interrupted. She and Charlotte began arguing regarding which of them is truly the top woman on Raw, a confrontation in which Bayley took the upper hand by shoving Charlotte out of her chair onto the floor.
This not only deeply offended The Queen but also Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross, as Bayley completely ruined their talk show. To get back at The Huggable One for her egregious offense, Nikki Cross will go one-on-one with Bayley in the ring, but with Alexa Bliss lurking in the shadows, Bayley will certainly have her work cut out for her.
4. Who Will Challenge The Boss
Since her return, Sasha Banks has been doing her best to make Natalya’s life a living hell, even throwing hands with the Raw Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, when she tried to save her frenemy. But Becky didn’t make it far at all in this interaction, as The Boss used a steel chair to beat her down.
This destruction of the champ left Banks’ harassment of Natalya last week go uncontested, but at this point, her rampage is likely to bring the hammer down on her, whether it be from Natalya, The Man, or another woman who has taken offense to Banks’ actions.
5. Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman’s Tag Team Championship Reign Begins
After saving Braun Strowman from The OC’s clutches last week on Raw, Seth Rollins’ had a brilliant idea – why not get the ultimate revenge on their common enemy by teaming up to take the Raw Tag Team Championships from them?
So that’s exactly what they did. In the main event of Raw, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman took on The OC, and despite AJ Styles’ best efforts to prevent it, the unlikely team won the Raw Tag Team Championships.
This week, Rollins and Strowman’s reign begins, but The OC will undoubtedly be on the hunt for an opportunity to take their beloved titles back.
