The August 12 2019 episode of WWE Raw is taking place later this evening.
The following “quick hits” are advertised to be included in tonight’s show:
1. Seth Rollins’ Reign as Universal Champion Begins
As promised, Seth Rollins brought down The Beast at Summerslam and is, therefore, the new Universal Champion. Many doubted his ability to defeat Lesnar, but especially Brock and his advocate, Paul Heyman, who were utterly shocked by Rollins’ victory.
Such a monumental win deserves a monumental celebration, and Rollins will be doing so tonight on Raw.
2. Dolph Ziggler Takes On The Miz
Last week on Raw, Dolph Ziggler came to the ring to sign a contract for what he thought was a Summerslam match against The Miz, but was actually being tricked into a match against Goldberg.
However, The Miz assured Dolph that they would have a match, it would just be the Monday after Summerslam. Which is tonight.
To say that Goldberg dominated Dolph Ziggler feels like an understatement, so Ziggler is absolutely not at 100% going into Raw, which is perfect for Miz, whose goal this entire time has been to treat Miz a lesson after his treatment of Shawn Michaels.
3. Becky Lynch Looks for a New Challenge
As Becky Lynch successfully defeated Natalya in their Submission Match at Summerslam, she will be starting her search for a new challenger tonight on Raw.
And with all of the talented ladies of Raw no doubt hoping for a championship opportunity, she probably won’t have to look very far.
4. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross Defend Tag Team Championships
Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross just retained their titles against The IIconics last night at Summerslam, but true champions are always up for a challenge and will be putting their Tag Championships on the line again tonight.
Asuka and Kairi Sane, The Kabuki Warriors, very nearly won the titles from The IIconics and will be stepping up to challenge the new champs on Raw.
5. The OC Rides High After Summerslam
After their defeat and subsequent beatdown of Ricochet last night at Summerslam (the match may have been AJ Styles vs. Ricochet, but Gallows and Anderson certainly contributed), The OC is feeling on top of the world.
But their party may be cut short with new challengers, because when you’re at the top of the mountain, the list of those hoping to knock you down is long – particularly when you step on others to get there.
