NXT UK

The September 11 2019 edition of WWE NXT UK, out of the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales, just wrapped up. We’ve got the match results, as well as our overall thoughts on the show, for you to check out below. Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) vs. Harry Green & Danny Jones

A showcase squash match… Imperium continues to roll over anyone and everyone they face.

Winner: Imperium

Jordan Devlin vs. Ashton Smith

This match was a bit more competitive than the opener, to say the least. Smith came out of the gates guns blazing and actually had Devlin on the ropes early, which was fun.

I really like Smith and I think he’s got a chance to be a good one, especially in NXT UK, after some more time on TV. He’s a bigger dude, too, which is something NXT UK needs more of (size).

Devlin survived the early storm and fought his way back into the match and eventually got the win. Again, Smith was the real star of the show here, though.

Winner: Jordan Devlin

Tegan Nox vs. Shax

Welcome back, Tegan Nox! I’m very much excited to see what the NXT UK women’s division looks like with a healthy Tegan in the mix.

Now, about the match… this was a Goldberg-like squash. Nox got the win with a Shining Wizard in like 30 seconds. Of course, Nox’s return couldn’t have just ended there…

NXT UK Women’s Championship Kay Lee Ray had to show up and talk some smack. Nox didn’t back down, though, and said if Ray wanted to fight, they could do it any time, any place. That sounds fun!

Winner: Tegan Nox

Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster (c) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans

NXT UK Tag Team Championship Match

If you missed it, Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster won the NXT UK Tag Team Championship titles at TakeOver: Cardiff in a legit MOTY contender. This rematch, minus Gallus, was also a ton of fun to watch, which isn’t at all surprising.

This was jam-packed with crazy spots, including a Poison Rana from Andrews onto Drake from off the top rope (!!!), which got a huge reaction from me.

Of course, the recently crowned champs retained their titles, because why would they lose them so soon? Expect to see them mix it up with Aichner and Barthel (of Imperium) in the near future, which already sounds incredible, if I’m being honest.

Winner: Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster
