NXT UK

The 07/10/19 edition of WWE NXT UK, from the Download Festival in Donington Park, Leicestershire, England, just wrapped up. We’ve got the match results, as well as our overall thoughts on the show, for you to check out below. Let us know what you thought about episode #51 of NXT UK by tweeting us, @TheRumbleRamble.

Ilja Dragunov vs. Ashton Smith

We expected this match to be a bit more onesided then it ended up being, but Ashton Smith actually held his own here and looked good in the process. With that being said, the match outcome was never in any doubt, but Smith didn’t get squashed in one minute, either.

Dragunov has been beating people on NXT UK for weeks now using his Torpedo Moskau strike, and this week was more of the same. He’s really fun to watch in the ring and they’re doing a good job of building him up slowly.

Winner: Ilja Dragunov

Candy Floss vs. Toni Storm

Up next, Candy Floss went one-on-one with NXT UK Women’s Champion Toni Storm. Like the match prior, we didn’t expect this one to be as competitive as it was, but Floss actually gave Storm a fight here… for a few minutes, at least.

After a brief back-and-forth, Storm hit the Storm Zero to get the win. Kay Lee Ray attacked Floss on the ramp after the match, and Storm ran down to make the save. Those two have unfinished business with one another, to say the least.

Winner: Toni Storm

Gallus vs. The Hunt & Dave Mastiff

The Hunt and Dave Mastiff came out strong here, quickly sending Gallus to the floor to regroup. Of course, Gallus did in fact regroup, and Wolfgang took over the match for his team once things got back into the ring.

Each member of Gallus then took turns working over Primate, until Wild Boar got the hot tag. Boar shined for a bit but was cut off by a vicious-looking chokeslam from Mark Coffey. Mark’s really good and has a bright future, along with his brother Joe.

Mastiff FINALLY got involved, at least legally, towards the end of the match, but Gallus and their experience working together was just too much for the good guys to overcome.

Gallus got the win, which is exciting because along with Imperium, heel factions are running strong in NXT UK at the moment. Hopefully, it leads to something big, like a WarGames match, down the line.

Winner: Gallus
