Noam Dar vs. Ashton Smith
Perhaps a bit overconfident, Noam Dar didn’t appear to be taking Ashton Smith seriously early on in this match. That mistake by Dar allowed for Smith to stick around a bit longer than we expected him too, which gave him a chance to show off his athleticism.
Dar eventually faked an eye injury to create an opening for himself, which he took advantage of. Smith wouldn’t go away, however, and nearly pulled out the win towards the end of the match.
Smith missed on a big top rope leg drop, which allowed for Dar to follow with a Nova Roller to get the win. Dar announced after the match that he would be at TakeOver: Cardiff, although his opponent wasn’t announced.
Winner: Noam Dar
Jazzy Gabert & Jinny vs. Xia Brookside & Piper Niven
This started as a fun, back-and-forth tag match… but Rhea Ripley showed up and ruined it. Piper Niven actually went after Ripley right away, without Ripley getting involved in the match, and the two brawled all the way to the back.
This left Xia Brookside alone with both Jazzy Gabert and Jinny. Brookside put up a solid fight, but in the end, Gabert’s Dominator was just too much for her to overcome.
Winner: Jazzy Gabert & Jinny
Joe Coffey (w/ Gallus) vs. Bomber Dave Mastiff
This was a fun hoss fight that started hot and never slowed down.
Early on, Dave Mastiff suplexed Joe Coffey, who was holding on for dear life in the corner. Coffey actually ripped the turnbuckle pad off during his fight to not be suplexed by Mastiff, leaving the turnbuckle exposed.
A few moments later, Mastiff was shoved back-first into that exposed turnbuckle, which set up the story that was to come beautifully. Mastiff sold it as if he had an injured kidney, which was a neat twist to the standard hurt back trope in wrestling.
After a bit more back-and-forth, things spilled out on the apron, where Coffey launched himself into Mastiff, driving him back-first into the steel ring post and sending both men crashing hard to the ground.
Coffey was pretty banged up at this point too, even bleeding from the ear, and Mastiff was selling the kidney like crazy. Neither man could make the ref’s 10-count, so the match ended in a double count-out.
Gallus helped Coffey to the back while refs held back Mastiff, who wanted to continue fighting, as the show went off the air. Again, this match ruled hard and is very much worth checking out if you missed it.
