NXT UK

The 04/24/19 edition of WWE NXT UK, out of the Brooklyn Pier 12 in Brooklyn, New York, just wrapped up. We’ve got the match results, as well as our overall thoughts on the show, for you to check out below. Let us know what you thought about episode #40 of NXT UK by tweeting us, @TheRumbleRamble.

Ligero vs. Kassius Ohno

Kassius Ohno used his size advantage to ground Ligero and control things early on. Ligero landed a running senton off the apron and to floor on Ohno, but Ohno rolled with the move and sent Ligero face-first into the ring steps, which was a cool spot.

Back in the ring, Ohno landed a big brainbuster on Ligero, but Ligero kicked his way back into the match once again. He landed a Code Red, then a diving senton the floor, which wiped out Ohno.

On the floor, Ligero hit a pretty Sliced Bread using the stairs and then rolled Ohno back into the ring looking to win the match via pinfall. When Ligero rolled in the ring, Ohno grabbed his mask and twisted it sideways, blinding him.

Ligero couldn’t see Ohno’s ripcord elbow coming and it was lights out after that.

Winner: Kassius Ohno

The Champ Speaks

NXT UK Women’s Champion Toni Storm came out to the ring to hype up the absolutely loaded NXT UK women’s division. She said that, although the division is talented, she plans to be champion for a very long time.

As she made her way up the ramp, Kay Lee Ray came out for her match. Storm mentioned a bunch of names in her promo, but not Ray’s, which seemed to upset her right before her match.

Xia Li vs. Kay Lee Ray

Xia Li cornered Ray early on in the match with her awesome kicks. Ray came back with some forearms to the face, but Li wouldn’t stand down. She hit a few big knee strikes, a kick to the spine, and a roundhouse kick to the head, which earned her a near fall.

Li, while impressive, was only delaying the inevitable. Ray’s Widow’s Peak was all she needed to secure the victory.

Winner: Kay Lee Ray

Moustache Mountain vs. Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster

Both teams went back-and-forth early on. In fact, this match probably took a bit too long to get going, but once it did, it was quite good.

Flash Morgan Webster went for a dive onto Bate, but Bate caught him and transitioned right into an airplane spin on the floor. He ended the move by dropping Bate face-first into the ring apron, which looked brutal.

The teams then exchanged a ton of double team maneuvers, all of which led to near falls. Mark Andrews and Webster hit an assisted 450 splash on Trent Seven, but he kicked out.

Bate and Seven hit a lariat/suplex on Andrews, but Webster broke up the pinfall attempt. Andrews and Webster then threw a PoisonRana/knee strike at Bate, but Seven broke up that pinfall attempt. Good stuff all around here.

The flying knee/Burning Hammer combo led to Moustache Mountain getting the win. Again, this match ruled, especially the last half of it, so check it out if you missed it.

Winner: Moustache Mountain
