WWE NXT

The 05/22/19 edition of WWE NXT, out of the Full Sail Arena in Winter Park, Florida, just wrapped up. We’ve got the match results, as well as our overall thoughts on the show, for you to check out below. Let us know what you thought about episode #505 of NXT by tweeting us, @TheRumbleRamble.

General Manager William Regal Speaks

When last week’s episode of NXT ended, the status of the NXT Tag Team Championship titles was very much in question. With that in mind, NXT General Manager William Regal decided to kick off this week’s show with a huge announcement…

At TakeOver: XXV, new NXT Tag Team Champions will indeed be crowned. The Undisputed Era, Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan, The Street Profits, and The Forgotten Sons will meet in a fatal 4-way ladder match, with the winner becoming the new tag champs.

It’s probably safe to say that match is a legit “match of the year” contender.

Sean Maluta vs. Mansoor

This was a fun, back-and-forth sprint that showcased just how awesome these two guys are. Mansoor, in particular, has a ton of potential and we’re excited to see where he goes from here.

At one point, Sean Maluta landed a pretty top rope Codebreaker. Not to be outdone, Mansoor came right back with a slingshot neckbreaker, which was also pretty neat.

Mansoor got the win with some sort of spinning inverted DDT. Again, good stuff all around here.

Winner: Mansoor

Reina Gonzalez vs. Candice LeRae

Much like the match prior, this was another fun-but-short sprint that was entertaining to watch.

Early on in the match, Reina Gonzalez used her size and power advantage to straight up rag-doll Candice LeRae around for a bit. LeRae, the ultimate underdog, fought her way right back into the match and eventually got the win via pinfall following a Lionsault.

After the match was over, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir showed up and surrounded the ring. The three pounced on LeRae, but before too much damage was done, Io Shirai showed up with a kendo stick and cleared house.

Shirai’s kendo stick shots were something else. She really laid into those three.

Winner: Candice LeRae

Johnny Gargano and Matt Riddle vs. Undisputed Era

NXT Champion Johnny Gargano teamed up with Matt Riddle to take on Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly, of the Undisputed Era, in the main event.

The UE worked over Gargano good in the early parts of the match. The two even took out Riddle, who was on the apron, completely controlling everything that happened in the opening moments.

Gargano eventually made a nice comeback and tagged in Riddle, who came in guns blazing and starting laying into Fish with some nasty roundhouse kicks to the chest.

Riddle followed up those kicks with a pretty exploder suplex, and then an overhead kick to O’Reilly, but the numbers became an issue again. Soon the UE were back in control, and O’Reilly was working on Riddle’s ribs, which were taped up following a backstage assault last week from Roderick Strong.

Gargano eventually made his way back into the match, but Adam Cole and Roderick Strong did too, which was simply too much for Gargano and Riddle to overcome.

Thanks to the distraction, the Undisputed Era got the big win. The four then stomped out Gargano and Riddle and stood over them posing to close out the show.

Winner: Undisputed Era
