The 03/27/19 edition of WWE NXT, out of the Full Sail Arena in Winter Park, Florida, just wrapped up. We’ve got the match results, as well as our overall thoughts on the show, for you to check out below. Let us know what you thought about episode #497 of NXT by tweeting us, @TheRumbleRamble.

Gargano and Cole Speak

Adam Cole came out first and reminded everyone about what happened last week. In case you missed it, Johnny Gargano will face Cole for the vacant NXT Championship in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match at TakeOver: New York.

Both me recapped their respective NXT careers so far, reminding us that they are two completely different stories. Remember, Cole was brought in with a lot of hype and quickly achieved success, where as Gargano was brought in with little fanfare and wasn’t expected to be the star that he is today.

Both took about 15 minutes to simply say that they’re leaving TakeOver: New York with the title. Nothing of substance was said during this segment.

Personally, I feel as though it went too long and could’ve done a lot more with a lot less.

Aliyah and Vanessa Borne vs. Kacy Catanzaro and Lacey Lane

This match didn’t ever really get off the ground, although Lacey Lane did some cool stuff in the opening portion of the bout.

Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir laid out Lane and Catanzaro. Aliyah and Vanessa Borne left before anything bad could happen to them.

Baszler faces Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, and Kairi Sane at TakeOver: New York for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Winner: Kacy Catanzaro and Lacey Lane

Kona Reeves vs. Matt Riddle

Matt Riddle had things under control until Velveteen Dream showed up. Dream was escorted to the stage on a couch by two ladies, which is the best way to travel if you can afford it.

Kona Reeves took advantage of the distraction, but Riddle quickly recovered and tapped him out in a few minutes.

Post-match, Riddle and Dream had a brief altercation on the stage, but nothing physical happened between them. Expectations for their North American Championship Match at TakeOver: New York are very high, to say the least.

Winner: Matt Riddle

Forgotten Sons vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finale

Things started off hot, so hot, in fact, that the Forgotten Sons left the ring to regroup on the floor. Speaking of the floor, Jaxson Ryker got involved in things from the ringside area and by doing so, turned the match around completely.

Thanks to Ryker, Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler took turns beating up Ricochet while Aleister Black could only look on from the apron helplessly.

Once Black got the hot tag, he whooped ass, laying out both members of the Forgotten Sons. Both Ricochet and Black flew around quite a bit in this match, which is always fun to watch. Those two are already a really great team with a ton of chemistry.

The Black Mass/630 combo won Black and Ricochet the match, as well as the Dusty Classic and the right to face NXT Tag Team Champions The War Raiders at TakeOver: New York.

During the celebration, The War Raiders came to the ring, standing face to face with Black and Ricochet to close the show.

Winner: Aleister Black and Ricochet
