Forgotten Sons vs. Moustache Mountain

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Match

Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake did a good job of keeping Tyler Bate on their side of the ring for the first half of the match. Frequent tags between the two kept them fresh, causing Bate to struggle early on.

Trent Seven eventually got the hot tag and cleaned house with some big chops, but a chop block to Seven’s knee changed the course of the rest of the match.

Bate hit both Cutler and Blake with a double airplane spin, and then a corkscrew splash on Blake, but Cutler broke up the pinfall attempt.

Jaxson Ryker took out Bate at ringside, giving Cutler and Black the 2-on-1 advantage on Seven, who had one good leg at this point. It didn’t take long before the Forgotten Sons scored the pinfall victory.

Winner: Forgotten Sons

Bianca Belair vs. Io Shirai

NXT Women’s Championship No. 1 Contendership Match

Shayna Baszler was on commentary for this bout, where the winner was supposed to face her for her NXT Women’s Championship at TakeOver: New York (more on that soon).

Io Shirai was on fire in this match, she hit a beautiful springboard dropkick that looked like it could have ended the match, but Belair kept fighting. Shirai then went for her top rope moonsault, but Belair cut her off with a hair whip, which always gets a nice reaction from the crowd.

Shayna Baszler eventually got involved and the match ended in a DQ. Kairi Sane ran out for the save, but Baszler dropped her, too. The Champion stood tall with her title to end the segment.

Winner: Io Shirai (via DQ)

DIY vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Match

Aleister Black and Ricochet dominated Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano for the first few moments of this match. A slingshot spear from Gargano on Ricochet was DIY’s first big blow in the bout, but Gargano only got a two count out of it.

Aleister Black took out both members of DIY with an awesome springboard moonsault in the middle of the ring. He then blocked Gargano’s slingshot spear, then hit him with a brainbuster, which nearly eneded the match.

Ciampa landed a brutal elevated neckbreaker on Black onto the apron, then hit the slingshot DDT, but Black somehow managed to kick out of the pinfall attempt.

After a hot closing sequence that lasted a few minutes, Black nearly kicked Ciampa’s head off with the Black Mass, then Ricochet landed the 630 to score the pinfall on Ciampa.

Both Ciampa and Candice LeRae helped Gargano up the ramp post-match. Ciampa tried to throw him into the stage, once again, but this time Gargano reversed it.

He then hit Ciampa with a superkick right to the face, standing tall with his wife to close the show

Winner: Aleister Black and Ricochet
