TakeOver: Philadelphia Recap

The show started off with a video package showing the results of NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia and several more photos and clips were sprinkled throughout the rest of the show. In case you missed it, here’s the full story from Saturday night.

Nikki Cross vs. Lacey Evans

The match started out with Nikki Cross going wild on Lacey Evans, beating her down in and out of the ring. Evans tried to get in some offense, but didn’t do much damage and missed her big spot off the top rope. Nikki Cross got the pin with her Swinging Fisherman Neckbreaker.

After the match, the referee had to hold her back from beating Evans down some more. Cross is such a fantastic insane person/heel and she has the NXT Universe in the palm of her hand.

Winner: Nikki Cross

The Undisputed Era Plot Their Revenge

The Undisputed Era were shown walking (actually, more like limping) together backstage, saying that they were going to get SAnitY back for disrupting their interference in Adam Cole’s match on Saturday. It was then announced that there will be a match between Undisputed and SAnitY next week.

TM61 vs. The Ealy Brothers

This was an awesome way to introduce TM61 back to the NXT crowd, drawing chants and cheers for the recently rebooted team. After those epic video packages about Thorne and Miller’s backstory to build them up, they needed a super hot start back in the ring.

TM61 brought down The Ealy Brothers fairly quickly, but not without showing off a bit with some cool spots to remind the audience how talented they are.

Winner: TM61

Tyler Bate vs. Roderick Strong

What a fun main event, this match started out at a blistering pace. Tyler Bate brought all of the intensity we’ve come to expect from him and Roderick Strong met him at every turn.

These two went at it for the better part of twenty minutes and had us on the edge of our seats the entire time.

Strong won the match with a nasty Strong Breaker.

Winner: Roderick Strong
