EC3 vs. Bobby Fish (w/ Undisputed Era)

Before the match began, Adam Cole cut a promo letting everyone know that 2019 will be the year of Undisputed Era. Cole claimed that Undisputed Era would obtain all of the gold in NXT in the new year.

Another notable Cole quote was that 2018 was the beginning of a decade of dominance for Undisputed Era. This promo, like most of Cole’s promos, was very good.

EC3 took control of the match early on, over-powering the smaller Bobby Fish with his size and strength advantage. Fish eventually went after EC3’s knee, which was a great callback to what set up this match in the first place, and turned things in his favor in the process.

Even with the rest of the Undisputed Era surrounding the ringside area, and going as far as to involve themselves in the match, EC3 squeaked out the victory with a small package.

Undisputed Era went for the post-match attack on EC3, but Heavy Machinery made the save. Everyone from Undisputed Era managed to escape, except for Kyle O’Reilly, who got roughed up by all three men to close out the segment.

Winner: EC3

The Mighty vs. Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan

Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan handled their business in impressive fashion during the early half of this bout, but The Mighty refused to go down without a fight.

This match was short, but hard-hitting and fast-paced, showcasing some really good tag team wrestling.

Burch and Lorcan got the win via pinfall, further establishing themselves as a legitimate threat for the NXT Tag Team Championship titles going forward.

Winner: Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan

Reina Gonzalez vs. Mia Yim

Mia Yim defeated Reina Gonzales via pinfall following Eat Defeat. This wasn’t a squash match, but it also never quite felt like Yim was in danger of losing.

Yim has now qualified for the fatal 4-way match to determine the new number one contender for Shayna Baszler and the NXT Women’s Championship.

Two other competitors announced for that match are Bianca Belair and Lacey Evans, leaving only the fourth woman to be revealed.

Winner: Mia Yim

Ricochet (c) vs. Tyler Breeze

NXT North American Championship Match

Ricochet’s surprise opponent for tonight’s NXT North American Championship match was… Tyler Breeze! Prince Pretty made his surprise return to NXT to face Ricochet for the title and got a huge reaction from the Full Sail crowd.

Ricochet and Breeze had a really solid, back-and-forth match with Breeze getting massive cheers for everything he did during the bout.

Ricochet got the win, but Breeze gave him that competitive match that he was so desperately looking for.

Go out of your way to see this match if you missed it, because it’s well worth the watch.

Winner: Ricochet
