The August 7 2019 edition of WWE NXT, out of the Full Sail Arena in Winter Park, Florida, just wrapped up. We’ve got the WWE NXT results, as well as our overall thoughts on the show, for you to check out below. NXT TakeOver: Toronto Hype

As expected, the go-home show for NXT TakeOver: Toronto was loaded with segments and video packages hyping the big show. There are five matches booked for the event right now and all five have a legit shot at stealing the show.

Saturday night should be a good one, to say the least.

Shane Thorne vs. Joaquin Wilde

Joaquin Wilde and Shane Thorne had the only match on the show this week… and it was a pretty good one. After a slow start, Wilde landed a powerbomb outta nowhere to get some momentum.

He followed that up with a few dives to the floor, each more spectacular than the last. However, once things spilled out to the floor, Thorne’s aggression took over.

After tossing Wilde around for a bit out on the floor, Thorne and Wilde finally made their way back into the ring. Thorne then hit a big running knee strike and got what, to us, was a surprising win.

Winner: Shane Thorne

Killian Dain vs. Matt Riddle

We were super excited to see Killian Dain back in action on NXT… but that didn’t happen, at least not this week.

Dain showed up and blindsided Riddle during his entrance, and then crushed with him with a cannonball splash on the stairs, before walking away.

Winner: No Contest
