WWE NXT

The 04/25/18 episode of WWE NXT just wrapped up. We’ve got the match results and our overall thoughts on the show for you to check out below. Let us know what you thought about tonight’s show by tweeting us, @TheRumbleRamble.

The Undisputed Era In-Ring Promo

The Undisputed Era kicked off tonight’s show with an excellent in-ring promo. Each member of the group got a chance to speak and brag about their accomplishments. They also addressed some of the things the group had overcome in recent weeks, wrapping up any pre-TakeOver New Orleans storylines in the process. Undisputed Era said that they couldn’t be stopped, and no matter what NXT management threw at them, they would overcome.

This led directly into our next segment, an NXT North American Championship match featuring Adam Cole taking on Oney Lorcan.

Adam Cole (c) vs. Oney Lorcan

NXT North American Championship Match

Prior to the match, Adam Cole sent the rest of the members of Undisputed Era to the back, claiming that he could easily beat Oney Lorcan on his own. Cole’s ribs were taped up due to the beating that he took at TakeOver New Orleans and Lorcan used this to his advantage, focusing on Cole’s midsection throughout the match.

Perhaps it was the ribs, or the fact that Lorcan is a badass, but Cole was on the struggle bus. This led to Undisputed Era getting involved, and shenanigans ensuing, allowing Cole to get the win.

After the match, Undisputed Era put the boots to Lorcan, which drew out Danny Burch, who got the boots put to him as well. Undisputed Era stood tall to close out the segment.

Winner: Adam Cole

Bianca Belair Vignette

Bianca Belair got the vignette treatment. The video package highlighted her awesomeness in the ring and in the gym, as well as some of the characteristics that make up her persona. Simply put, Belair is going to be a really big deal in WWE for a very long time.

It was also announced that Belair will face Candice LeRae NEXT WEEK on NXT, which is obviously must-see television.

Heavy Machinery vs. Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss

This was a fun back-and-forth tag match, perhaps the best these teams have had with one another. Sabbatelli has a ton of heat, the “Tino sucks” chants travel with him wherever he goes.

Just when it appeared as though Moss and Sabbatelli had it all figured out, Sabbatelli bailed on Moss and left him to die. Heavy Machinery, with the 2-on-1 advantage, got the win shortly after.

After taking their victory, Heavy Machinery called out War Raiders. That’s going to be a fun hoss match, no doubt.

Winner: Heavy Machinery

NXT Women’s Division Vignette/Backstage Promo

We got another awesome vignette for the NXT women’s division, this one hyping Kairi Sane, Aliyah, and Nikki Cross. Following that, Dakota Kai and Shayna Baszler had an interaction backstage. Kai appears to be terrified of Baszler, which can only mean one thing – Shayna’s going to kick her head off eventually.

Kona Reeves LOL

Kona Reeves is returning to NXT next week, which is fine, but these vignettes have been meme-gold so far. Reeves has the potential to be the comedic relief that NXT is missing at the moment, if handled correctly.

ANOTHER WOMEN’S DIVISION VIGNETTE!

We got another vignette highlighting some of the stars of NXT’s stellar women’s division. This time the Superstars showcased were Lacey Evans, Vanessa Borne, and Candice LeRae. From top to bottom, this division is loaded.

Aleister Black (c) vs. Eric Young

NXT Championship Match

This was initially announced as Aleister Black vs. Johnny Gargano, but Gargano was taken out by Ciampa during his ring entrance. In fact, Ciampa beat him down so bad, he had to be stretchered out of the arena. There was a shot of Ciampa waving goodbye to Gargano as the ambulance drove off, which was fantastic camera work and writing.

Aleister Black saw his booked opponent being loaded into an ambulance and came to the ring, attempting to call out Ciampa, but was interrupted by SAnitY. Eric Young challenged Black to an impromptu NXT Championship match, which of course Black accepted.

Black and Young had a very physical match that saw Black get the win via the Black Mass. With some help from the rest of SAnitY, Young gave Black quite a fight, but it wasn’t enough to defeat The Dutch Destroyer.

After the bout, Black laid out every member of SAnitY via a Black Mass party (except Nikki Cross, who was not present) to close out the show.
