The October 16 2019 episode of WWE NXT is taking place later this evening.
The following “quick hits” are advertised to be included in tonight’s show:
1. Tommaso Ciampa Returns to the Ring
Last week on NXT, after Tommaso Ciampa confronted Adam Cole and The Undisputed Era to check on his precious Goldie, he made his way to the backstage area. Cathy Kelley was waiting for him, hoping for an exclusive statement regarding what had just happened, but Angel Garza decided that he was much more worthy of an interview than Ciampa, and intervened.
Tommaso Ciampa, neither amused by nor patient enough to deal with Garza’s outburst, punched him in the face and calmly left the scene. The two will settle things in the ring tonight on NXT.
2. Pete Dunne Challenges Damian Priest
In order to take his piece of the glory on the new two-hour, live version of NXT, Pete Dunne returned from a stint in NXT UK for the inaugural show, revealing that he had come to stay after defeating Arturo Ruas.
But after Pete’s second victory, this time after a slightly more competitive match against Danny Burch, his celebration was cut short by Damian Priest, who took the Bruiserweight out with his rolling cutter finisher, The Reckoning.
Although Pete Dunne admitted that he admired Priest’s quest for greatness, he couldn’t take such an attack lying down. Therefore, Dunne and Priest will compete tonight on NXT, Dunne looking for revenge, Priest out to make a name for himself against the record-breaking former champion.
3. Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic Find Out Who’s Best
Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic’s feud has been one for the ages. Because even though there hasn’t been an incredible amount of storytelling involved, the history between the two men and the unbelievable matches they’ve had is enough to build an exciting rivalry.
Dijakovic overpowered Lee in their first encounter, but Keith Lee was the one to come out on top in their second match. So the two titans of NXT will go one-on-one again to determine which of them is the better man once and for all.
4. Tegan Nox Returns to Action
Tegan Nox was a promising competitor in the 2018 Mae Young Classic; so promising, in fact, that many thought she would be the one to win the entire tournament. But in the quarter-final match against Rhea Ripley, disaster struck. And Tegan Nox was forced to sit out nearly the entire following year due to a knee injury.
Tonight, Tegan Nox will be making her long-awaited return to the ring, though it has not yet been announced who her competitor will be.
