The November 13 2019 episode of WWE NXT is taking place later this evening.
The following “quick hits” are advertised to be included in tonight’s show:
1. Angel Garza Challenges Lio Rush for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship
In defeating Tony Nese after a hard-fought match last week, Angel Garza gained an opportunity at Lio Rush and his Cruiserweight Championship. Post-match, Lio Rush came to the stage to survey his upcoming challenger and received a smack to the face from Garza rather than the staredown or handshake he may have been anticipating.
This act of disrespect will no doubt add an extra layer of hostility into a match that was already promising simply given the competitors. Lio Rush became Cruiserweight Champion very recently after defeating Drew Gulak on NXT TV, but will certainly have his work cut out for him across the ring from Angel Garza.
2. Mia Yim and Io Shirai Battle in a Pre-WarGames Ladder Match
Last week on NXT, Rhea Ripley was tasked with choosing the final member of her WarGames team. And after a brutal brawl between the two factions of the NXT Women’s Division, Ripley decided that Mia Yim was the perfect woman for the job, kicking Dakota Kai to the curb in the process.
In preparation for the first-ever Women’s WarGames Match, Mia Yim will be looking to further prove that Rhea Ripley made the right choice in a Ladder Match against Io Shirai, one of the competitors on team Shayna.
Though there is no title on the line, the stakes are still high, as the woman who climbs the ladder first will be rewarded with a WarGames advantage – their respective team will be the first to send a woman into the cage.
3. Killian Dain Continues on His Quest for Dominance
Pete Dunne has had a target on his back for weeks, as Killian Dain has been relentless in his pursuit of supremacy. The Beast of Belfast seems to have no motive other than destruction, which only makes him more dangerous.
Moments after defeating Damian Priest and delivering some payback for his low-blow victory in their last encounter, Pete Dunne was pummeled by Killian Dain, who once again showed that he does not discriminate when he took Priest down as well on his way to the backstage area.
This was undoubtedly not the last of Killian Dain’s ambushes, but will his sole focus remain Pete Dunne, or will one of the many Superstars who have been clobbered along the way take a stab at revenge.
4. Will Any Raw or SmackDown Roster Members Invade?
With Survivor Series on the horizon, the three main rosters have been at war for weeks, invading each other’s shows and matches and attempting to gain an advantage going into the event.
Last week, AJ Styles and The OC fired the first shot at NXT, laying waste to Undisputed Era outside of the arena before stepping in the ring against Tommaso Ciampa, Matt Riddle, and Keith Lee later in the evening.
The OC were not able to score the victory, as the match ended in chaos with both Finn Bálor and Adam Cole interfering in the action, which may fuel a second try from Raw or SmackDown, whether it be a returning OC or a different Superstar out to make a statement.
