The July 31 2019 episode of WWE NXT is taking place later this evening.

The following “quick hits” are advertised to be included in tonight’s show:

1. Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne Collide Ahead of NXT TakeOver Toronto

In last week’s episode of NXT, Pete Dunne made an appearance to challenge Velveteen Dream for his North American Championship at NXT TakeOver Toronto next month.

As Roderick Strong was hoping to have a one-on-one match with Dream at TakeOver, he was not happy about the addition of a third man. His solution was to challenge Pete Dunne to a match to take place tonight, where he will do his best to inflict enough damage to Dunne that he will no longer be able to compete at TakeOver.

2. Shayna Baszler Responds to Mia Yim

Mia Yim took it upon herself to ambush Shayna Baszler’s (only) friends, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, in the parking lot of the performance center, leaving them laid out on the ground as she unconcernedly walked away.

Shayna Baszler will give her response to Yim on NXT tonight, which could give the HBIC exactly what she’s been looking for – a championship match at TakeOver Toronto.

3. Tyler Breeze Challenges Jaxson Ryker

A few weeks ago, The Forgotten Sons gave Tyler Breeze a less than warm welcome to the black and gold brand. But their scare tactics didn’t have the effect that they had hoped for, as Breeze was completely unfazed. So much so, in fact, that he will be taking on Jaxson Ryker to prove that he can still hang with NXT’s best.

4. NXT Breakout Tournament: Bronson Reed vs. Cameron Grimes

The NXT Breakout Tournament has been a blast from the start and is now coming to a close. Bronson Reed and Cameron Grimes will compete in the last semi-final match, the winner of which will go on to face Jordan Myles to determine the overall winner of the tournament.

5. The Feud Between Candice LeRae and Io Shirai Rolls On

Since Io Shirai unexpectedly turned on Candice LeRae after her loss in the cage against Shayna Baszler, the feud between them has grown rather vicious. Candice LeRae attacked Io Shirai during her match last week, so the chances of the two locking horns again tonight are high.
