The 07/31/18 edition of WWE 205 Live, out of the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, just wrapped up. We’ve got the WWE 205 Live results, as well as our overall thoughts on the show, for you to check out below. Let us know what you thought about episode #88 of WWE 205 Live by tweeting us, @TheRumbleRamble.

Kalisto vs. Tony Nese

Kalisto, sans Lucha House Party, faced off against a Buddy Murphy-less Tony Nese in our opening contest. The two had a nice back-and-forth match, with tons of awesome strikes involved, but Kalisto’s Salida del Sol eventually got him the pinfall victory.

Post-match, Buddy Murphy and Kalisto had an altercation on the ramp. Lince Dorado made the save, and the two laid Murphy out to close the segment.

Winner: Kalisto

Cruiserweight Championship Contract Signing

Footage aired from the contract signing that took place earlier in the evening between Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander, and the challenger, Drew Gulak. General Manager Drake Maverick mediated the signing, during which Gulak accused Alexander of not being a fighting champion. He even went as far as to call him the “Brock Lesnar of 205 Live,” which was a great line. Those two will face off at SummerSlam with the title on the line.

Lio Rush vs. Ricky Martinez (???)

Lio Rush defeated Ricky Martinez (???) in a squash match. Rush ran down Akira Tozawa beforehand on the microphone, and threw in a few of Tozawa’s moves during the match.

Post-match, Tozawa made his way out to the ring and chased Rush off. Those two are far from through with one another.

Winner: Lio Rush

Cedric Alexander vs. The Brian Kendrick

This match took a second to get going, as both Cedric Alexander and Brian Kendrick took things slow at the start of the bout. The turning point finally occurred when Kendrick slid under the ring, drawing Alexander outside of the ring, and into Kendrick’s genius sneak attack.

Alexander eventually fought his way back into the match and got the win via the Lumbar Check. Drew Gulak, who was on commentary during the match, distracted Alexander long enough for Jack Gallagher to KO the champ via a nasty head-butt. GM Drake Maverick ran out to keep things from getting any more out of hand, breaking up the scuffle and threatening to strip Gulak of his opportunity for the championship.

Winner: Cedric Alexander
