The September 3 2019 episode of WWE 205 Live is taking place later this evening.
The following “quick hits” are advertised to be included in tonight’s show:
1. Humberto Carrillo Takes On Lince Dorado
In the finale of last week’s episode of 205 Live, Humberto Carrillo stepped into the ring with Oney Lorcan in a Number 1 Contender match for Drew Gulak’s Cruiserweight Championship.
After a hard-fought bout, Humberto Carrillo came out on top, meaning he will be the one to face Drew Gulak for the title at Clash of Champions. Carrillo had very little time to celebrate, however, as he was confronted by Lince Dorado the moment he stepped into the backstage area.
The Lucha House Party member, who has been exhibiting some questionable behavior as of late, took exception to Humberto’s title shot, claiming that he would be the one across the ring from Gulak at Clash of Champions, had he been afforded the opportunity.
Dorado completely downplayed Carrillo’s journey to this position, comprised of many, many impressive matches, including some against the former 205 Live powerhouse, current SmackDown Live Superstar, Buddy Murphy.
Though Humberto Carrillo was undoubtedly insulted by Lince Dorado’s brash behavior, he agreed that he and Dorado had a score to settle, as their last match (on the August 6th episode of 205 Live) ended in a double count-out, and requested Dorado meet him in the ring on this week’s edition of 205 Live.
Though defeating Humberto Carrillo will not grant him access to the Cruiserweight Championship Match, it might give Lince Dorado a bit of the validation he seems so desperate to obtain.
.@humberto_wwe and @LuchadorLD will look to settle their differences and show who is the better lucha libre-style competitor TONIGHT on #205Live! https://t.co/HzEf26Kab6 pic.twitter.com/r37aJCGDID
