With less than 2 weeks left, we’re nearing the finish line on the road to WrestleMania 35. Though there are still matches to be added, we have a list of those that have already been announced.
As of today (Wednesday, March 27th), the WrestleMania 35 match card stands as follows:
Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Tony Nese
Cruiserweight Championship Match
As Buddy Murphy has steamrolled his way through the Cruiserweight Division since becoming champion, a tournament was set to determine Murphy’s opponent at WrestleMania. This man would have to fight his way through the rest of the division, plus an NXT opponent or two, to earn his place against the champ.
Tony Nese came through the tournament victorious, only to be attacked by his good friend, Buddy Murphy. The animosity between them continued to grow on 205 Live last night and, as they’re both incredible in the ring, their WrestleMania match should be particularly exciting.
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch
Raw Women’s Championship Match
This match was originally set between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch, as Lynch was the winner of the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. Vince McMahon had other plans, however, replacing Becky with Charlotte Flair. At Fastlane, Becky Lynch was given the opportunity to regain her place in the Women’s Championship match – all she had to do was defeat Charlotte Flair.
With only one good leg, things didn’t look promising for Becky. Luckily, Becky pushed Ronda Rousey to the point that she ensured Lynch emerged victorious just so she can get her hands on The Man at Mania.
On last night’s SmackDown Live, Charlotte defeated Asuka for her SmackDown Live Women’s Championship. We are unsure what this means for the triple threat; it’s possible that both titles will be on the line, making the winner the Undisputed Women’s Champion.
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins
Universal Championship Match
As he was the winner of the 2019 Royal Rumble match, Seth Rollins had his choice of WrestleMania opponents: Brock Lesnar or Daniel Bryan. Though Daniel Bryan certainly would have made an exciting opponent for Rollins, The Kingslayer has made it his personal mission to defeat The Beast and bring the Universal Championship home.
Triple H vs . Batista
No Holds Barred Match
Triple H has been dying to get his hands on Batista ever since The Animal attacked Ric Flair at his 70th birthday party, and at WrestleMania, he will finally get his wish. Batista has been demanding that things are done “his way,” but Triple H was the one to pick the stipulation: No Holds Barred.
Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin
Olympian, Superstar, Purveyor of the Three I’s, Kurt Angle announced that he will be competing in his final match at WrestleMania 35. On Raw, he announced that he had chosen Baron Corbin as his opponent, as Corbin had done his best to make Angle’s last run in WWE as difficult as possible.
Although everyone, including us, had hoped that John Cena would be the one to retire Angle, Corbin’s popularity and dedication cannot be discounted, and we’re sure he’s honored to have been given this opportunity.
The Miz vs. Shane McMahon
Falls Count Anywhere Match
Poor Miz. After weeks spent trying to convince Shane McMahon that they would make a good team, Shane agreed to become half of the greatest tag team in the world, only to turn on Miz at Fastlane.
On SmackDown Live, Shane explained his actions, stating that he was the best in the world all on his own and didn’t need The Miz as Miz needed him. He enjoyed breaking Miz’s heart and couldn’t wait to do even more harm at WrestleMania.
Over the weeks, these men have grown to absolutely hate each other. So, in order to inflict maximum damage upon one another, they have chosen to have their match under Falls Count Anywhere stipulations.
AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton
AJ Styles and Randy Orton’s feud has been growing over the past few weeks, leading to Styles challenging Orton to a match at Mania on SmackDown.
The two have been constantly attacking each other, interfering in one another’s matches, and throwing snide comments in backstage interviews. WrestleMania is likely just the beginning of their fiery feud.
Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
As always, there will be an Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal held at some point during the show. The winner of which will receive bragging rights, as well as the Andre the Giant trophy.
Braun Strowman announced that he will be participating in the match, but the rest of the competitors are still unknown.
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
United States Championship Match
Rey Mysterio and Samoa Joe have been involved in several multi-man matches since Mysterio’s return to WWE, creating an entertaining rivalry between the two.
Joe and Mysterio will get a chance to put their skills to the test one-on-one at WrestleMania when Mysterio gets a shot at Samoa Joe’s United States Championship.
Bobby Lashley vs. Finn Bálor
Intercontinental Championship Match
Bobby Lashley has had it out for Finn Bálor for months now and will get the chance to prove himself the better man once and for all. However, until this point, he has had plenty of outside help from various partners and his hype man, Lio Rush.
This time, he will have to face Bálor completely alone, which will no doubt lead to some difficulties for The All Mighty. And with rumors of The Demon making an appearance at Mania this year, things look even worse for Lashley.
Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre prides himself on being the destroyer of The Shield. He has defeated Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and has now set his sights on Roman Reigns, who he has promised to obliterate at WrestleMania.
McIntyre has insulted Reigns a few times too many, which has only added to The Big Dog’s thirst for revenge.
The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection (Sasha Banks and Bayley) vs. The Divas of Doom (Natalya and Beth Phoenix) vs. The IIconics (Peyton Royce and Billie Kay) vs. Nia Jax and Tamina
Fatal 4-Way Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Bayley and Sasha Banks have had targets on their backs ever since winning the tag team championships at Elimination Chamber. Every team in the division has been anxious to go head to head with the champs, doing everything from taunting them to interfering in their matches.
The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Kofi Kingston
WWE Championship Match
After a long battle with the powers that be of WWE, Kofi Kingston and his New Day brothers, Big E and Xavier Woods, finally achieved their goal: getting Kofi Kingston into a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania.
Multiple arguments, gauntlet matches, and Daniel Bryan tantrums behind him, Kofi Kingston is very possibly heading into his first-ever WWE Championship run. And with the entire roster and WWE Universe cheering him on, it’s going to be an extremely emotional evening for us all.
