Summerslam 2019 is taking place Sunday, August 11th, 2019 in the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

As the show is right around the corner, much of the Summerslam 2019 match card has already been announced and stands as follows:

AJ Styles (c) vs. Ricochet

Ever since AJ Styles’ old friends Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson convinced him to turn back to his wicked ways, Ricochet has had a bullseye on his back (mostly because Gallows and Anderson made Styles believe Ricochet was disrespecting him – which he wasn’t).

Ricochet and Styles have been going back and forth for weeks, and now that Ricochet has won a championship rematch by coming out on top of a Gauntlet Match on Raw, he and Styles will be able to settle their differences once and for all at Summerslam.

Becky Lynch (c) vs. Natalya

Raw Women’s Championship Match

After conquering Lacey Evans, Becky Lynch was in need of some fresh competition. And, of course, several women stepped to the plate, but instead of a multi-woman match at Summerslam, those who wanted a shot at The Man (Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Natalya, and Carmella) participated in a Fatal 4-Way match on Raw, which Natalya won.

But unlike Bayley and Ember Moon, Becky Lynch and Natalya wasted no time on cordiality, going straight for each other’s throats the moment this championship match was set.

Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon

If Kevin Owens Loses, He Will Quit WWE

To say that Shane McMahon has placed himself in the spotlight of both Raw and SmackDown Live this year would be an understatement. And though he’s faced his share of competitors, his need to be the center of attention has gone virtually unchecked.

That is until Kevin Owens took issue with Shane O’Mac, ruthlessly criticizing his disregard for up and coming Superstars and taking screen time from those fans would much prefer to see. Shane has done his best to avoid Owens but will come face to face with him in the ring at Summerslam. However, if Kevin Owens is unable to defeat Shane, he will be forced to quit WWE.

Charlotte Flair vs. Trish Stratus

Deeply insulted that she had been left out of the Summerslam 2019 match card, Charlotte Flair made it a point to find an opponent fit for a Queen. It didn’t matter that Becky Lynch and Bayley, the two WWE Women’s Champions, already had matches, they didn’t fit the bill anyway.

When Trish Stratus made a special appearance on Jerry Lawler’s King’s Court on SmackDown Live, Charlotte finally found a suitable option. Trish wasn’t exactly sold on the idea until Charlotte gave her a little persuasion (in the form of insults, of course).

Finn Bálor vs. Bray Wyatt (The Fiend)

Though Bray Wyatt has assured Finn Bálor that he has always been a member of the Bálor Club, The Fiend doesn’t feel the same way. In fact, since escaping the Fun House, The Fiend has made Finn Bálor his number one target, attacking him or costing him matches for weeks.

Fed up with being ambushed at every turn, Finn Bálor made the brave (possibly inadvisable) choice to call out The Fiend for a match at Summerslam, which Bray warningly accepted on his alter ego’s behalf.

The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler has shown absolutely no respect for anyone or anything since making his dramatic return to WWE TV back in May but took things too far in The Miz’s eyes when he attacked Shawn Michaels during an episode of Miz TV.

Both Seth Rollins and Finn Bálor have made attempts to teach The Showoff some respect, but as both of their matches were derailed, The Miz has taken on the task for Summerslam.

Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Randy Orton

WWE Championship Match

Kofi Kingston has proven himself again and again as a fighting champion, and as such, went straight for the greatest Summerslam challenge he could find: Randy Orton.

This will be the second time Kingston and Orton have battled, the first being ten years ago, from which Randy Orton came out on top. But Kingston has grown and learned a great deal in the last decade, and will no doubt give Orton one hell of a fight.

Bayley (c) vs. Ember Moon

SmackDown Live Women’s Championship Match

What started as a friendly challenge from one woman to another has evolved into a far more hostile rivalry. Ember Moon made it clear that she values the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship over her relationship with Bayley, and Bayley responded in kind.

Lucky for us, their growing conflict will only make the match that much better.

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins

Universal Championship Match

There is no question that the feud between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins over the Universal Championship has been nothing short of vicious.

Lesnar and Rollins have torn each other apart, played mind games, done anything they could do get the better of the other, and after Brock Lesnar’s latest attack on Seth on Raw, it’s safe to say that their match at Summerslam is going to be gruesome.
