Summerslam weekend is rapidly approaching, and with it, NXT TakeOver Toronto, which is taking place Saturday, August 10th, 2019 in the Scotiabank Arena.
Though the show is still a couple of weeks away, much of the TakeOver Toronto match card has already been announced and stands as follows:
Io Shirai vs. Candice LeRae

Last week on The Rumble Ramble Podcast, we debated whether or not this match would be featured at TakeOver, and this week on NXT TV, we got our answer.
The feud between Io Shirai and Candice LeRae has been vicious right from the start, Shirai unexpectedly turning on LeRae after losing a Steel Cage Match to Shayna Baszler, and LeRae brutally attacking Shirai during a match against Kacy Catanzaro last week.
Fed up with the constant scheming, Candice LeRae requested a match against Io Shirai at TakeOver Toronto from NXT General Manager William Regal to settle things once and for all, to which he consented.
Velveteen Dream (c) vs. Pete Dunne vs. Roderick Strong
North American Championship Match

Velveteen Dream has been insisting that no one is ready for The Velveteen Dream Experience, but Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong think otherwise and have both challenged The Dream for a shot at his North American Championship.
Pete Dunne came all the way from NXT UK for this chance for glory and Roderick Strong will be out to add more gold to Undisputed Era’s collection, so the stakes and the resolution will be high.
The Street Profits (c) vs. Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish)
NXT Tag Team Championship Match

The Street Profits won their very first NXT Tag Team Championships last month at NXT TakeOver XXV, and have been doing an excellent job leading the NXT tag division, but Undisputed Era have not given up on the dream of making 2019 the year of Undisputed.
Adam Cole is already in possession of the NXT Championship, all that’s missing is Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly/Bobby Fish to win their respective matches and UE will have all of the gold.
Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Mia Yim
NXT Women’s Championship Match

As Io Shirai has moved away from the NXT Women’s Championship scene to feud with Candice LeRae, Shayna Baszler will be facing Mia Yim at TakeOver instead. Mia Yim has come close to a championship match before but was beaten out by Bianca Belair.
Shayna Baszler has defeated Mia Yim twice in the past, once at the Mae Young Classic, and another time earlier this year, not to mention all of the women Shayna has run through in her time as champion, meaning Mia Yim has quite a difficult challenge ahead of her.
Adam Cole (c) vs. Johnny Gargano
2-Out-Of-3 Falls NXT Championship Match

To give an epic end to their legendary feud, Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano will compete in a 2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match for Cole’s WWE Championship at NXT TakeOver Toronto. But not just any 2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match, this will be what is essentially a three stages of hell match.
Adam Cole has chosen a classic singles match for his fall and Johnny Gargano has chosen a street fight. If needed, General Manager William Regal will choose the third fall (it will be needed) but has yet to announce his decision regarding what the stipulation will be.
