Clash of Champions 2019 is taking place this Sunday, September 15th, 2019 in the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As the show is only a few days away, most, if not all, of the Clash of Champions 2019 match card has already been announced and stands as follows:

Drew Gulak (c) vs. Humberto Carrillo vs. Lince Dorado

In a match on 205 Live, Humberto Carrillo took on Oney Lorcan to determine which of them would go on to face Drew Gulak in the upcoming event, Clash of Champions. And after a hard-fought battle, Humberto Carrillo emerged victorious, claiming his spot as the number one contender to the Cruiserweight Championship.

But Lince Dorado took exception to this, claiming that he would be the No. 1 Contender, if only he had been given an opportunity at the position. Not afraid of an extra challenge, Humberto Carrillo agreed to a match against Lince, the stakes being if Lince won, the Cruiserweight Championship Match would become a Triple Threat.

Lince Dorado came out on top of the exciting match, proving his point and earning his place in the match at Clash of Champions.

The New Day (c) vs. The Revival

Since The Revival have recently formed an alliance with Randy Orton, who has been in a brutal feud with Kofi Kingston for quite some time at this point, it’s no surprise that The Revival entered into a rivalry with the remaining members of The New Day, Big E and Xavier Woods.

The tension has been growing steadily between the two teams, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson going as far as to attempt to break Woods’ leg on an episode of SmackDown, so when The Revival challenged The New Day for their SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships, The New Day were happy to accept the opportunity to get revenge.

Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman (c) vs. Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler

Raw Tag Team Championship Match

Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman just recently defeated The OC for their Raw Tag Team Championships, but being two men always up for a challenge, will be putting their newly claimed titles on the line at Clash of Champions.

In a Tag Team Turmoil Match on Raw, the seemingly ragtag team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode came out on top of 8 teams to win the spot in this match.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (c) vs. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

Women’s Tag Team Championship Match

Determined to find their way into their self-proclaimed deserved spot of Number One Contendership for the Women’s Tag Team Championships, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose challenged Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss to a non-title match on SmackDown Live after ambushing them during their championship photo shoot.

Normally, Bliss and Cross bend the rules just a touch to win matches, but when pitted against a team with the same philosophy, found themselves on the losing side.

As was their goal all along, this victory won Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose a Tag Team Championship Match at Clash of Champions.

AJ Styles (c) vs. Cedric Alexander

United States Championship Match

The OC have had many targets since reuniting, but one that has received a particularly great amount of attention is the former Cruiserweight Champion, Cedric Alexander.

During last night’s episode of Raw, Cedric Alexander teamed up with Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, and The Viking Raiders to take on Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, and The OC. And since Cedric Alexander and his team were the ones to take the victory, Cedric being the one to get the final pin over AJ Styles, WWE officials were impressed enough to award Alexander a shot at Styles’ United States Championship at Clash of Champions.

Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. The Miz

Intercontinental Championship Match

Along with his new spokesperson Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura picked a fight with The Miz, attacking him twice at the direction of Zayn.

Angered by these assaults and Sami Zayn’s harsh words, Miz challenged Shinsuke Nakamura to put his Intercontinental Championship on the line at Clash of Champions. And after beating him down again, Nakamura accepted, despite Sami Zayn advising against this decision.

Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

SmackDown Live Women’s Championship

Bayley has been at the top of the SmackDown Live Women’s Division ever since winning the title from Charlotte Flair at Money in the Bank earlier this year. But Charlotte disagrees strongly with this point of view, claiming that she is the leader of the division, and holds this position whether she’s a titleholder or not.

Even so, The Queen has grown tired of being without a crown, and will, therefore, be stepping in the ring with Bayley at Clash of Champions to reclaim her prize.

Seth Rollins (c) vs. Braun Strowman

Universal Championship Match

Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman may be tag champs together, but as far as Braun is concerned, that has no bearing whatsoever on his claim to the Universal Championship.

During an interview on Raw regarding their plans for their championship reign, Strowman dropped all pretense, spending the entire conversation staring at Rollins’ Universal Title.

Rollins made it clear that Strowman wasn’t his ideal competitor, particularly because he barely made it out of the feud with Brock Lesnar with all of his limbs intact, but accepted anyway, keeping his promise to be a fighting champion.

Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sasha Banks

Raw Women’s Championship Match

When Sasha Banks returned to WWE TV, she made it clear that she had one goal, and one goal only, in mind: defeat Becky Lynch and claim the Raw Women’s Championship for herself.

After shaking off the ring rust by wrecking Natalya (multiple times), Banks was ready to shift focus completely to The Man. Which she demonstrated on Raw when she not only ruined the Women’s Championship Showcase by assaulting Becky Lynch but also convinced Bayley to turn against The Man and beat her down as well.

Their newly formed conflict will come to a head at Clash of Champions when Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks battle for the Raw Women’s Championship.

Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan

For weeks, Daniel Bryan has been insisting that he and Rowan were innocent in the vicious attacks on Roman Reigns, and when it came to light that Rowan was actually behind them the whole time, Bryan was furious.

Flying into a rage, Bryan lost control on Rowan, slapping him around and declaring himself disgusted with his now-former protector.

But Rowan did not appreciate this treatment, and showed his feelings by laying out both Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan on SmackDown Live before reminding Reigns that he would have much worse waiting for him in their match at Clash of Champions.

Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Randy Orton

WWE Championship Match

In an effort to both prove himself a worthy champion and to rewrite history by challenging the man who defeated him a decade ago, Kofi Kingston threw down the gauntlet to Randy Orton, who accepted, though he made it clear he thought it was laughable that Kofi considered himself to be on the same level as The Viper.

This disrespect from Orton heightened the friction between the two right from the start, and it has only gotten more intense from there, Randy Orton making a habit of bringing Kingston’s family into the dispute.

And since their match at Summerslam ended in a double count-out, they will be facing off again at Clash of Champions to decide which of them is the better competitor once and for all.
