In the midst of the action that took place during last night’s Money in the Bank event, it was announced that a new championship would be unveiled by WWE Legend, Mick Foley, during tonight’s episode of Raw.
If you listen to our weekly podcast, you know that on the most recent episode, we talked about our love for the Hardcore Championship. And since Mick Foley was the inaugural Hardcore Champion, awarded the title by Vince McMahon himself back in 1998, a revival of the championship is a definite possibility.
Another popular theory is a Legends Championship, the details of which are unknown, as WWE has never instituted such a title, but the idea alone has sparked a great deal of interest and speculation among fans.
A new championship is an intriguing move for WWE, and we’re very interested to see what Mick Foley has in store; not to mention, simply seeing the Hardcore Legend back on WWE TV is always a pleasure.
