The August 19 2019 edition of WWE Raw went down last night in the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Listed below are the 5 best moments from the show.

Be sure to check out the full results from Raw as well!

Roman Reigns Takes On Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler was up to his old tricks yet again last night on Raw, this time in a match against Roman Reigns. Knowing that the odds were against him as he surveyed his opponent in the ring, Ziggler attacked Roman Reigns before the bell, giving himself a leg up.

This worked exactly how Ziggler had hoped – for a while. Dolph Ziggler was able to get much more offense in on The Big Dog than he probably would have otherwise, but with a massive spear, Roman Reigns was the one to take the victory in the end.

The Fiend Comes for The King

The Fiend zoned in on another target last night, this time going after The King, Jerry Lawler. Lawler had made a special appearance on Raw to interview Sasha Banks regarding her attack on Natalya and Becky Lynch during her dramatic return to WWE TV.

Before The Boss had even begun to make her way to the ring, however, the lights began to flicker and eerie sounds that signal The Fiend’s presence rang through the arena. But The King was far from The Fiend’s first victim, so he made a run for it before the lights completely went out, hoping to escape the monster that was undoubtedly coming for him.

Unfortunately for The King, The Fiend had been watching and snuck up behind him on the stage as he peered around the arena, trying to catch a glimpse of his would-be attacker. The Fiend caught Lawler in the Mandible Claw and it was lights out for the hall-of-famer.

Cesaro and Samoa Joe Throw Down in First Round of King of the Ring

In the very first match of the 2019 King of the Ring Tournament, Cesaro stepped into the ring across from Samoa Joe, both men hoping to move on to the second round and therefore come one step closer to becoming the King of WWE.

After an absolutely vicious battle in which both competitors threw everything they had at their opponent, Samoa Joe came out on top by dodging the Neutralizer and responding with his deadly Coquina Clutch, tapping out the Swiss Cyborg and advancing in the tournament.

The Revival and Randy Orton Extinguish the Power of Positivity

Since teaming up, Randy Orton and The Revival have made The New Day their number one priority, Orton after the WWE Championship and Dash and Dawson chasing the Raw Tag Team Titles.

Last night on Raw, Randy Orton and The Revival took another, even more savage, step in bringing down The New Day. Big E and Xavier Woods were in a match against Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, and doing an excellent job of maintaining control of the action, when The Viper came with an RKO outta nowhere, taking out Woods and causing a disqualification.

Kofi Kingston, of course, couldn’t stand by and watch his brothers suffer, so he ran down in an attempt to save them. Sadly, Orton and The Revival laid him out as well. And to make matters worse, Orton held Kingston down, forcing him to watch while The Revival did their very best to break Xavier Woods’ leg.

Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins Capture the Raw Tag Team Championships

A feud between AJ Styles and Braun Strowman has been brewing over the last few weeks, Braun Strowman preventing The OC’s destruction of Seth Rollins and Ricochet on Raw, and Styles responding with a challenge for a United States Championship Match.

As expected, this match turned out to be a trap, as Gallows and Anderson were waiting at ringside and, when they found the right moment, caused a disqualification by attacking Braun Strowman.

To repay him for fighting off The OC for him the week previously, Seth Rollins saved Strowman from the trio and then had a brilliant idea – a Raw Tag Team Championship Match where he and Braun teamed up to take on Gallows and Anderson.

Though they were less than happy to be forced to put their titles on the line, Gallows and Anderson competed in this match and, as they feared, lost the championships to Strowman and Rollins.
