Samoa Joe Captures United States Championship on SmackDown Live

Although a seasoned veteran in the world of professional wrestling and two-time champion in NXT (not to mention a crowd favorite), Samoa Joe spent over two years on the main roster of WWE without winning a title.

However, after an outstanding United States Championship Fatal 4-Way Match against Andrade, Rey Mysterio, and Champion R-Truth last night on SmackDown Live, The Samoan Destroyer finally took home championship gold.

R-Truth’s run as United States Champion was tremendous fun, and he certainly succeeded in his quest to make his hero John Cena proud, but we couldn’t be happier to see Samoa Joe with a title on his shoulder.
