With WrestleMania weekend and NXT TakeOver: New York just around the corner, fans have been curious as to whether the NXT UK division would be represented on the show, given that there has been no announcement regarding a second NXT UK specific TakeOver.
Our questions were answered when, as promised earlier today, NXT UK General Manager, Johnny Saint, and his assistant, Sid Scala, made a big announcement to kick off this afternoon’s episode of NXT UK.
Saint and Scala informed the WWE Universe that Pete Dunne will be defending his NXT UK Championship at TakeOver in New York. Though they did not announce who his opponent would be, Pete Dunne had some thoughts of his own on the subject.
After making his way to the ring, The Bruiserweight said only 3 words: “Give me WALTER,” before calmly walking back up the ramp.
Later in the show, WALTER was shown exiting Johnny Saint’s office. When asked about the meeting, Saint revealed that he had been in touch with NXT General Manager William Regal, and there would indeed be an NXT UK Championship Match between Pete Dunne and WALTER at NXT TakeOver: New York.
