NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2018 is coming to you live out of the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, this Saturday, November 17th, on the WWE Network. We’ve got the NXT TakeOver: WarGames match card, as well as our predictions and overall thoughts on the show for you to check out below. Let us know what you think is going to happen during WarGames by tweeting us, @TheRumbleRamble.
Aleister Black vs. Johnny Gargano
After being beaten down in a parking lot, forcing him to take a rather lengthy leave of absence, Aleister Black has a major bone to pick with Johnny Gargano. However, this match will be no cakewalk for Black, as Gargano has a shiny new attitude and has more than proven he is willing to do just about anything to get his way. And lucky for him, his wife, Candace LeRae, seems to be on the same page, so we could easily see her interfering in the action, costing Aleister the match in the final moments.
Winner: Johnny Gargano
Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Kairi Sane
NXT Women’s Championship 2-out-of-3 Falls Match
These two have had an excellent feud to this point. Kairi has by no means been easy competition for Shayna, but with the added fuel that is her fellow horsewomen behind her, Baszler will retain the championship over Sane. Eventually, possibly even sooner rather than later, Baszler and her cohorts will join Ronda Rousey on the main roster, completing the Four Horsewomen stable, but for now, Shayna will continue her tyrannical rule over the rest of the women’s roster.
Winner: Shayna Baszler
Tommaso Ciampa (c) vs. Velveteen Dream
NXT Championship Match
Tommaso Ciampa captured the NXT Championship back in the summer and, after everything he went through to get it (and how he bears a striking resemblance to Gollum with the ring when he looks at it), we don’t think he’s quite finished being king of the mountain. Velveteen Dream is basically pure charisma and talent, however, and though this loss may mean he never becomes NXT Champion, we wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him with the WWE Championship around his waist somewhere in the future.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa
Undisputed Era vs. War Raiders, Ricochet, and Pete Dunne
WarGames Match
If this match is anything like the WarGames from last year, and we have no doubt it will be, it’s going to be must-see. Undisputed Era has already proven they can go under WarGames stipulations, and who better to meet them there than four of the baddest guys on the NXT roster. Although they are a ragtag group, War Raiders, Ricochet, and Pete Dunne will certainly give Undisputed a run for their money. However, being the well-oiled machine that is Undisputed Era will ultimately give them the edge needed to defeat their opponents.
Winner: Undisputed Era
