We all know that WWE Superstars are a particularly tough group of people, both mentally and physically. Traveling most of the year while subjecting your body to the stunts and performances required of them is no easy task.
But what many of us might not consider is that the same toughness is necessary to be a referee in the company. Referees travel just as much as the Superstars, and often play key roles in their matches, even performing stunts of their own.
During an NXT Live Event in Omaha, Nebraska, NXT Referee Tom Castor proved that he possesses more grit than seemingly possible when he broke his leg mid-match and, instead of relinquishing his duty to another official, finished calling the match before receiving medical attention.
We will not show the actual image of his broken leg here, as it is rather graphic, but if you aren’t squeamish, you can see it here.
The show must go on, however, and at the next night’s NXT Live Event in Davenport, Iowa, fellow NXT referees and Superstars offered their well-wishes and love to Castor via the following video message.
Last night referee @tomcastorWWE suffered a lower leg injury and managed to finish the match. Our Superstars backstage wish Tom a speedy recovery. #WeAreNXT #NXTDavenport pic.twitter.com/9shKF2OFo6

Tom Castor then thanked the WWE Universe and his coworkers for their support in a heartfelt message posted to Instagram, which you can read below:
