When Kurt Angle announced last week that he would be competing in his final match at WrestleMania 35, the first question on everyone’s mind was “who will his opponent be?”
The Olympian didn’t immediately answer this question, saying that there were several competitors who came to mind as someone he would like to face, and he needed time to decide.
Last night on Raw, Angle shared with the Chicago crowd who he had chosen to face him on the grandest stage of them all. His opponent for WrestleMania 35 would be Baron Corbin.
Corbin, former acting General Manager and long-time harasser of everyone’s favorite gold medalist, is the one man Angle is most anxious to lay hands on, and therefore the perfect choice for his last match.
Though we can safely say that we had all hoped for someone with a little more hustle, loyalty, and respect to be the one to retire Kurt Angle, it makes sense for Angle to want a final act of revenge against the Corporate Lone Wolf before hanging up his boots for good.
