Last week on SmackDown Live, Kevin Owens (briefly known as “Big O”) took things too far in his quest to disparage Kofi Kingston and his New Day brothers, Xavier Woods and Big E.
While Kevin Owens was berating Kofi Kingston (from the stage, of course, much too far away for the WWE Champion to lay hands on him), Owens was ambushed from behind by Xavier Woods. Unfortunately for Woods, Kevin Owens overpowered him, knocking him to the ground before making his escape backstage.
Later in the evening, Kevin Owens was in the ring for his talkshow, The Kevin Owens Show, where he continued to run down the members of The New Day. His guest was supposed to be Xavier Woods, but Kofi Kingston forbade him from going, as he was already injured.
Kofi Kingston took care of Kevin Owens himself, catching Owens off guard with a vicious attack. Owens eventually escaped into the crowd, but not before suffering quite a beating at the hands of Kofi Kingston.
Kevin Owens has promised to give his response to Kingston’s actions during tomorrow night’s edition of SmackDown Live. Whether Owens plans to give a verbal response or attempt a physical attack on Kofi Kingston remains unclear, but Owens’ anger toward The New Day is obvious, and his reaction will surely reflect it.
