The Superstar Shake-Up, a rearranging of the two branches of WWE’s main roster, took place during last week’s editions of Raw and SmackDown Live. Although this event means new opponents and opportunities for many Superstars, including those from NXT and 205 Live, it can also mean the separation of friends and relationships.
This time around, Kairi Sane was drafted to SmackDown Live to join Asuka in the Women’s Tag Team Division. The move from NXT to the main roster is certainly an exciting one but was also tinged with sadness, as Sane has formed close bonds with her fellow members of the NXT roster since her debut in 2017. The toughest goodbye was to her best friend, Xia Li, who made a tearful promise to become NXT Women’s Champion in Sane’s absence.
Over the past two years, Kairi Sane has won the admiration of the entire NXT Universe and will no doubt be making waves on SmackDown Live in no time.
