Drake Maverick Announces Tournament to Determine WrestleMania Opponent for Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy

Buddy Murphy has proclaimed himself Greatest Cruiserweight of All Time, and it’s hard to disagree with him, as he has been a dominating force in 205 Live since stepping foot in the division.

Since winning the Cruiserweight Championship in front of a hometown crowd at the Super Show-Down back in October, many have tried to dethrone the king, but none have succeeded.

Murphy has blown through the entire 205 Live roster, defeating every man set in front of him. As there is no clear number one contender, General Manager Drake Maverick announced an 8-man tournament to determine the next challenger for WWE’s Best Kept Secret.

The first round of matches will take place on the February 26th episode of 205 Live. The two matches announced are Tony Nese vs. Kalisto and Drew Gulak vs. Brian Kendrick.

The winner of the tournament will earn the right to face Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania 35 for the Cruiserweight Championship.
