Tonight’s edition of SmackDown Live was loads of fun from start to finish, but one of the highlights of the episode was the new Daniel Bryan and his new WWE Championship.
Bryan, who has pulled out all the stops in his “eco-warrior” persona (which is probably closer to the real Bryan Danielson than any of his past characters), gave a long speech about hypocrisy and how much he hated carrying a dead cow on his shoulder.
After giving a full eulogy for “Daisy,” the name Bryan bestowed upon the departed cow, the WWE Champion and his follower, Rowan, threw the Championship in a garbage can. Bryan and Rowan then unveiled the brand new championship belt, crafted under the careful instruction of the Planet’s Champ, himself.
In a word, this belt is magnificent. Adorned with what appear to be pieces of sea glass and other small stones, the WWE symbol and Daniel Bryan side plates carved into naturally fallen oak, all attached to 100% sustainably sourced hemp, this championship is truly a sight to behold.
