We’ll be honest. Six months ago we would have hated the idea of Aleister Black and Ricochet coming up to the main roster as a tag team. Not only is the idea pretty random, but both men are destined to be huge single stars, so pairing them up as a team seems unnecessary, at best.
Despite our skepticism, we’d be lying if we said we haven’t absolutely loved the tandem so far. In fact, it’s hard to imagine the two making a bigger impact as individual acts at the moment, with WrestleMania season in full swing.
WWE’s main roster tag team division, particularly Raw’s, needed some fresh blood. Together, Black and Ricochet have given WWE’s tag scene a much-needed shot in the arm, while showing promise as a legitimate tag team for the foreseeable future.

The two have tremendous chemistry in the ring and always have, even in their first few matches as a team. Seriously, the “Black Mass / 630 splash” combo is easily one of the coolest tag team finishers in WWE at the moment.
Outside of the ring, Ricochet’s energetic and peppy attitude contrasts well with Black’s quiet and dark demeanor. The particular promo posted above, where Black gives a fiery speech in Dutch while Ricochet nods along playfully, showcases just how entertaining the two can be when on the mic together.
With not one but two opportunities to capture tag team championship gold this weekend, the future for Aleister Black and Ricochet as a tag team seems bright. Obviously the two are going to make a huge splash as singles stars one day, but for now, we can’t wait to see them continue to impress in the tag team division.
