NXT TakeOver: Dallas
This showdown between Samoa Joe and The Demon King had a big fight feel to it that isn’t matched by any other bout on this list. A personal highlight for me occurs early on in the match when Samoa Joe is busted open and bleeding badly. The referee has to stop the show for a few minutes, and the crowd isn’t happy about it, but it added an element of realism that made me that much more invested in the story these two men were telling.

Finn Bálor vs. Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens vs. Rusev
WWE Raw (July 25, 2016)
Finn Bálor battles Cesaro, Kevin Owens, and Rusev for an opportunity to become the very first WWE Universal Champion. This bout occurred on an episode of Raw from July of last year, and the entire episode is worth the watch, as it was probably the best episode of Raw in 2016.

This was a “passing of the torch” moment between the face of NXT at the time in Finn Bálor, and the rising Superstar that was Shinsuke Nakamura. Don’t be surprised to see a rematch main event WrestleMania one day…

Finn Bálor vs. Seth Rollins
Universal Championship Match
SummerSlam 2016
Most people remember this match as Finn Bálor’s WWE pay-per-view debut, as well as the debut of the WWE Universal Championship. Others remember it as the bout in which Bálor suffered a serious shoulder injury that sidelined him for the next seven months. Personally, I remember it for being an awesome match between two amazing performers.

NXT Championship Match
Beast in the East
The Demon King returns to his second home in Japan, looking to capture the NXT Championship for the first time. The crowd is great, the in-ring action is phenomenal, and the moment is unbeatable. If you’re introducing someone to Finn Bálor for the first time, this is the match that I recommend starting off with, as it’s his best performance in WWE to date.

NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 2015
This is the rematch that followed the bout listed previously, and it was just as good the second time. The hype surrounding the NXT brand, this event, and this match, was abundant. NXT was the hottest thing in wrestling at the time, and it got even hotter after the night was over.
Finn Bálor vs. Adrian Neville
NXT TakeOver: Rival
This match features two of the best performers on the roster going at it for the right to face the NXT Champion for the title. In terms of pure wrestling, you can’t beat the in-ring action in this match.

Extreme Rules 2017
The very best of the Finn Bálor matches features five of the top Raw Superstars facing off for the right to meet Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. This match is the moment that Finn Bálor began to look like his old self for the first time since his shoulder injury.
