Back in 2013, Cesaro and Sami Zayn had a series of matches down in Orlando that set the internet on fire and helped put the new and improved NXT brand on the map. In fact, it was this bout in particular that made us check out the Full Sail version of the yellow brand, and from then on we were addicted.

The night after WrestleMania is always filled with surprises, including epic returns. At the time, Cesaro had been on the shelf with a shoulder injury. We actually saw him walking around Dallas that weekend in great shape, so we had a feeling he’d be back on TV sooner rather than later. What we didn’t know is that it would be the next night.

This match is awesome, and one of our favorites from the OG US Open Challenge days. Sigh… How great was the original US Open Challenge? John Cena (and talented dudes like Cesaro) made the United States Championship, and whatever show it was being defended on, must-see television.
Cesaro vs. Daniel Bryan

There’s a bit of trend going here- If there’s a mystery opponent in a matchup, there’s a 33 1/3rd percent chance that mystery opponent is Cesaro. In all seriousness, Daniel Bryan versus Cesaro is a great match on paper, so it’s no surprise that it held up to expectations in reality.

ANOTHER US OPEN CHALLENGE MATCHUP! Oftentimes, the US Open Challenge (and John Cena) gave superstars who deserved a bigger spotlight (like Cesaro) an opportunity to show what they could do under the brightest of lights. This was one of those times.

John Cena and Cesaro obviously have a ton of chemistry with one another, and we’d love to see those two gym warriors lock up inside of a WWE ring again soon. Out of all of their encounters, this one is probably our favorite.

Triple threat matches can be hit or miss, but when they’re good, they’re really good. Kevin Owens and Cesaro were hungry for success back in 2015, and Randy Orton was the perfect main event guy for those two to mix it up with. Matches like this one, where three guys are killing each other for the opportunity to face the champion, really helps make the title feel like the biggest prize in the business.

Add Roman Reigns//Cesaro to the list of matches we’d love to see again in the near future. These two have wrestled each other countless times on television, but the matches are always fantastic.

When you look at the catalog of matches that have come out of NXT over the past 5 years or so, it’s even more impressive that this is one of the best matches in the history of the brand. Cesaro and Sami Zayn had one of the best matches of 2014 on the very first live event ever broadcasted on the WWE Network.

One of the best matches from 2016, and our favorite performance from Cesaro to date. The Intercontinental Championship has always been the one that the greatest workers in the business are chasing after, and at the time, these four were some of the best WWE had to offer.
